- The document outlines the history and growth of mobile app stores since their beginnings in 2007-2008 and the exponential growth of apps available on iOS and Android platforms.
- It shows data on the number of apps rated by PEGI (the Pan European Game Information system) from 2009-2014 and the dominance of lower age ratings like PEGI 3, 7 and 12.
- The document then discusses PEGI's rating system and process for both physical and digital game releases, noting the much higher volume of digital ratings performed. It explores innovations needed to rate non-game apps and increased focus on new issues like in-app purchases and data sharing.
