(virtually no waste of time/energy on “unscientific” issues)

number of articles or their length for technical reasons
• no limitations regarding graphics (reproductions,
diagrams, pictures, colour etc.)

All in All…
• The concept has been well accepted − a considerable
readiness to submit papers, to help establish
contacts and cooperation, to review the articles and
to contribute in any other way.
• The potential benefits have been widely recognized
as such, especially the potential global reach,
interdisciplinary approach, swift publication and
positive lack of limitations.
• Many ideas (e.g. the special issue, e-publishing)
actually came from colleagues, board-members and
contributors, thus showing a genuine interest in the
project.

Conclusions

• E-publishing corresponds well with the
quintessentially multicultural and
interdisciplinary profile of humanities.
• The (golden) open access approach facilitates
cross-border scientific dialog and cooperation
and is thus particularly suitable for highly
specialized humanistic research − regarding
among other things its essentially non-profit
character.
