Con i verbi modali si può esprimere come qualcuno fa un
azione. Lo stesso verbo modale italiano viene tradotto
diversamente in tedesco in base al significato.
I verbi modali – Die Modalverben
Mit diesen Modalverben kann man ausdrücken, wie
jemand eine Handlung mit den folgenden Verben
macht:
Potere esprime
• un permesso o un diritto,
• un divieto (sempre con negazione),
• un direttiva negativa.
Dürfen drückt
• eine Erlaubnis oder ein Recht aus
• ein Verbot (immer mit Negation)
• eine negative Anweisung

• una facoltà.
Können drückt
• eine Möglichkeit oder Gelegenheit aus

Questi verbi vengono composti con delle particelle –
spesso preposizioni. Il significato di queste ultime
aggiunte al verbo può essere compreso facilmente.
Per esempio da, a, su, accanto, nel e cosi via.
All’infinito la particella è unita alla radice del verbo,
mentre quando il verbo si coniuga la particella va
all’ultimo posto della frase.

Il verbo modale coniugato sta come sempre al
secondo posto e il secondo verbo all’infinito alla fine
della frase. Il verbo separabile mette al secondo posto
la radice, all’ultimo posto la particella. Il verbo
coniugato è il perno della frase e non cambia mai
posizione.
Struttura della frase con due verbi– Die Verbklammer
Bei der Verbklammer steht das konjugierte Modalverb
wie immer an zweiter Stelle und das Verb im Infinitiv
am Ende des Satzes. Das konjugierte Verb ist die
Achse des Satzes und ändert sich nie.
