This study examined the relationship between teachers who practice the flipped classroom model and their attitudes toward open educational resources (OER). The study surveyed 361 teachers in Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Italy and Austria. It found that teachers who use the flipped classroom model had a more positive view of OER and reported higher theoretical familiarity with OER compared to teachers who do not use the flipped classroom model. Qualitative analysis of responses also found that flipped classroom teachers viewed OER more positively in terms of relevance and facilitating lesson preparation. The researchers hypothesized that the flipped classroom model may help promote greater adoption of OER.
