Apple Case Group 6 presented an overview of Apple's competitive advantages and market position in personal computers, music players, and cell phones. They analyzed the structure and profitability of the PC industry, determining that Apple has a sustainable competitive advantage in PCs due to differentiated products. They also found Apple has advantages in music players due to brand, customer relationships, and controlling memory supply chains. While Apple has succeeded in cell phones, competition is high and sustainability may be difficult without continued differentiation. The prospects for the iPad 2 are positive if it can deliver as a new laptop and wireless charging, but it faces threats from imitators. Apple's solution to market problems has been continued innovation under Steve Jobs' leadership.

The Galleria Borghese is located in Villa Borghese park in Rome. It houses the art collection of Cardinal Scipione Borghese, who built the villa-turned-gallery in the early 1600s. The gallery is renowned for its collections of masterworks by Bernini, Raphael, Caravaggio and others. Key highlights include Bernini's Apollo and Daphne and David, and Caravaggio's Boy with a Basket of Fruit and Saint Jerome. The gallery underwent extensive restoration from 1983 to 1997 to preserve its treasures.
The Getty Museum has one of the most comprehensive collections of photographs by Walker Evans, including over 1,100 vintage prints, more than any other museum. This book documents the entirety of the Getty's Evans collection and places the photographs in the context of his life and career. It presents the images chronologically from the 1920s to the 1970s, with an emphasis on his published work. The collection provides a unique opportunity to study the development of Evans's style through his printing techniques.
The document summarizes an exhibition of photographs taken in the Near East from 1867-1907 by the photography studio Bonfils. It provides background on Bonfils and how their photographs helped define the Western concept of the "Oriental" Near East for European and American audiences. Their photos depicted the landscapes, cities, architecture, and people of Egypt, Palestine, Syria, Constantinople, Greece, and included genre and ethnographic scenes. Bonfils produced tens of thousands of prints and slides that documented the visual culture and ruins of the historically and biblically significant Near East region, capturing the Western romanticized vision of the exotic Oriental landscape and peoples.
This document provides an overview of the origins and influences of weaving at the Bauhaus school in Germany from 1919-1933. It discusses precursors like the Arts and Crafts movement and German Expressionism. It describes the establishment of the Weaving Workshop and its curriculum. Key weavers like Anni Albers produced innovative textile designs that integrated art and craft and emphasized function over decoration. The Bauhaus weaving tradition had lasting influence on textile design in the 20th century.
This document provides a guide for optimizing PC performance through various tweaks and adjustments. It discusses topics such as backing up data, cleaning up storage space, optimizing startup processes, adjusting virtual memory and BIOS settings. The guide contains detailed instructions across 9 chapters for tasks like configuring system restore, disabling unnecessary startup items, installing additional RAM, and updating the BIOS. The overall aim is to help users troubleshoot issues, prevent slowdowns, and maximize their computer's speed.
The document discusses Google Street View and how it compares to traditional street photography. It examines the Street View methodology and how it imposes restrictions based on its automated data collection process. In contrast, street photographers exercise more control over their methodology and images. The issue of authorship is also discussed, with Street View lacking a specific author compared to authored collections by individual photographers. This lack of authorship impacts the ability of Street View to augment viewers' personal sense of place. The document introduces Wainuiomata, New Zealand as the location for the author's own street photography research project aimed at mediating perceptions of place through photographic methods.
The document provides instructions for loading film into the Kodak No. 3A Autographic camera. It describes removing the back of the camera, inserting the full film cartridge into the camera body, threading the end of the red paper onto the empty spool, and winding the paper to position the first frame of the film under the lens. The instructions emphasize handling the light-sensitive film carefully in subdued light to avoid exposing it prematurely.
The document is a collection of photographs and captions from Lewis Hine documenting child labor in the United States between 1908 and 1916. It includes images of very young children, some as young as 4 years old, working long hours in cotton fields, textile mills, canneries and other industrial settings. The captions describe poor working conditions, low wages, and children working through the night and on weekends to support their families.
2. ICA VILANDER
Hildegard Knef, Helene Weigel, Gregory Corso, Maurice Béjart, Sidney
Aufmerksamkeit.
Ica Vilander, geboren 1921 in Brux, Tschechoslowakei, Fotolehre, lebte
In twen z.B. finden
Ica
Vilander lebt heute in Hamburg.
