&Scanvenger
Scanvenger is part of DokoDare our location based service.
Whenever the focus of the game lays on finding a location, DokoDare
is there to help your participants. DokoDare hosts many informations
that can be useful: addresses, maps, phone numbers, descriptions...
Don’t hesitate to refer back to the description of a place on DokoDare
to solve a question.
Everything that belongs to Scanvenger is recognizable by the visual
appearance of Kitsune, the fox. Here on the lower part of the screen.

17. What is needed
For setting up an Hunt you need:
- An idea of a trail and what to do at checkpoints
Ideally with the support of a game designer
- A computer with internet connection
Your participants (single or teams) will need:
- a smart phone (iPhone, Android, Blackberry etc.)
- a preinstalled QR Reader (ex. Kaywa Reader)
- a DokoDare or Kaywa ID (http://id.kaywa.com)

19. Scanvenger Game Mode TRAIL
• Trail Mode is our linear game mode.
• Every checkpoint has one question and
several answers.
• Each checkpoint leads to the next.
• It‘s the most well known and most simple
game mode.

Pädagogische Hochschule des Kantons St.Gallen (PHSG) // Prof. lic. phil. Martin Hofmann // martin.hofmann@phsg.ch // +41 (0)793731924
20. Scanvenger Game Mode COLLECT
In Collect Mode you can start at every
checkpoint and go to any other
participating checkpoint.
The one with the most collected points and
correct answers wins.

21. Scanvenger Game Mode STORY
In Story Mode each checkpoint answer can
lead to a different checkpoint; multiple
parallel storylines are possible.
Advanced game design skills are crucial in
this mode.

«Die Teilnehmer der Schnitzeljagd werden auf eine

geschickt. Sie sollen den aktuellen Stand der
Medienentwicklung in der Schweiz ausspionieren. Mit
einer digitalen Fotokamera müssen sie die

34. Offene Fragen
