Each box is organised around key concepts in maths. The map shows the connectedness of the eBookboxes through vertical and horizontal linkages. Informed by research based developmental maps.
eBookboxes bring together and integrate key support material for teachers such as e5, the Mathematics Developmental Continuum P-10, SNMY project, Assessment for Common Misunderstandings and many others which can be found on the DEECD website.
Diagnostic tasks provide information about where students are at within a particular area. Using this and student data from within the Ultranet teachers can plan to support students - teachers can assign different learning tasks to different students from one or more eBookboxes
Integrating online maths journals in each eBookbox for student reflection. Teacher notes provide advice on collaborative learning, discussion and reflection for many learning activities. Ultranet tools make it possible for students to collaborate on their learning in an online environment such as setting up a class blog or wiki in Collaborative Learning Space- this hasn’t been available before. Here is an example of a Blog set up in Collaborative Learning Space from Mt Eliza Secondary College.
DEECD has purchased Young Digital Planet (YDP) content, Wolfram Mathematica, Mathletics resources – integrated into eBookboxes.
