2. Summer stimulates the desire to be elsewhere, to discover
new things. Summer meansrelaxation–or better yet,
disconnection. Summer gives us time to ask ourselves
questions that we don’t have time to think about the rest of
the year.

please!
For just a few weeks, we want to switch off the misery, the
stress, and the daily marathon of tasks performed outof
obligation or a sense of duty. Climate change, nuclear
threats, authoritarian leaders. The war? Please change the
subject, at least for now. Let me savour my book in the shade
of the flowering laurels.
