1. Short presentation of the FTD Fahrzeugtechnik Dessau GmbH CTF company FTD is a builder of train cars, high speed trains, passenger cars, freight cars, etc. that has worked for various beneficiaries: Russia, Holland, Germany, etc. Various types of cars, as well as components for them, have been built in Dessau. Before the re-unification of Germany, refrigerator cars, or highly specialized, insulated cars for the international market were produced here, and later also special freight cars for Germany. The most ambitious and prominent product is currently the PROTOS®. PROTOS® is an electrical (EMU) or diesel-electrical (DMU) train, with a low floor, intended for regional transport. It can be configured as a multiple unit, with 2, 3 or more parts, and it also offers very flexible possibilities for configuring the interior. The train runs with a maximum speed of 240 km/h (150 mile), and it is designed according to the highest safety standards (for example, the crash-standard prEN 15277). The special characteristic of PROTOS® is its constant speed and acceleration performance, which are independent of the number of units on the trainset. Through this project, Fahrzeugtechnik Dessau has proven its speed and flexibility, since a very short time was needed from the first sketch to the actual delivery of the train to the Dutch customer. A second ambitious project, the METROPOLITAN , was developed and built for Deutsche Bahn. Here, a bi-directional train was delivered, powered by one locomotive and consisting of 7 cars, including a control car. The train offers high-class interiors, and a superior travel performance. The trainsets have been running successfully since 1999, with a maximum speed of 220 km/h (135 mile). Another example from the field of traincars is LIREX , which was designed and built as a prototype for Deutsche Bahn. This 6-unit DMU train, with a low floor runs on single axes, with all traction equipment positioned on the roof of the cars. This prototype has served as the basis for a high-performance regional trains line. In the field of light rail / trams, FTD has the necessary development and production knowhow, allowing our company to design and modernize such cars. The basis for this is the experience gathered by building complete car bodies, and providing the final assembly, for both the internal and international market, as well as by building and repairing crashed trams

2. - Karlsruhe. In the field of underground trains, FTD has also produced essential subcomponents for Metro Delhi, India. FTD also builds Monorail trains, one example of which is the H Bahn, in Dortmund. Currently we are developing Monorail projects for the Middle East - Iran, and South America - Brazil. Currently FTD develops and produces highly integrated traincar substructures, for example powerpacks, door modules, car body sections, as well as welded components made of iron, stainless steel, or aluminum, including painting.
