- 1. COVID19 lockdown - What's the future of your company? Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. As per research global economy could shrink by up to 1 per cent in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, a reversal from the previous forecast of 2.5 per cent growth, the UN has said, warning that it may contract even further if restrictions on the economic activities are extended without adequate fiscal responses. The analysis by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) said the COVID-19 pandemic is disrupting global supply chains and international trade. With nearly 100 countries closing national borders during the past month, the movement of people and tourism flows has come to a screeching halt. The spread of Covid-19, as the disease is formally known, is unsettling supply chains, sapping sales of some products, throwing travel into chaos, freaking out the stock markets, and intensifying fears of a global recession. At the moment we have to temporarily close our shop and office. Some of us allowed to work from home. Tourism and airline industry badly affected. Same goes to small and medium companies. On the other hand if we talk about an MNC’s all over the world, the projects of the different segments, domain as well as process are being affected because of which these MNC’s are facing lots of challenges, loss & depreciation in their work as well as profit. Now we all are going through the phase in which we are doing work from home & also MNC’s are working to invest or to hire a new project which could help to raise an economy of the company ASAP after the phase of lockdown. As per my research company we should follow V-Shaped recovery. A McKinsey article on safeguarding lives and livelihood discusses different recovery cycles based on containment of virus and economic measures taken by a country. If a country limits the growth of the disease within 2-3 months and averts fundamental damage to the economy, a full recovery is possible in the short term. This means a V-shaped recovery for our firm in say 6 months.
