The document discusses how audiences use music videos, digipaks, and magazine advertisements based on uses and gratifications theory. It states that audiences watch music videos primarily for entertainment, to relate to relationships, and for ritual pleasures or diversion from issues. Digipaks provide ritual pleasure through familiar conventions and allow for self-definition if audiences relate to the artist. Magazine ads directly address audiences, allow for self-definition through relating to artists, and provide surveillance of additional information on the artist and digipak.
The document describes a 1 antenna input to 4 antenna output RFID multiplexer called the MUX4X1. It can selectively switch a unique RF signal to one of its 4 output lines at a time. The MUX4X1 has an embedded web server and can be configured via Ethernet, RS-232, or through direct TTL input control of the antenna switching. It finds applications in stock/inventory tracking, dock door access control, and other situations requiring selective switching of RFID antenna signals.
This seminar covered assigning responsibilities and collaborators to classes using CRC cards and other techniques:
1. Responsibilities include a class's behaviors and knowledge, and were assigned through role-playing scenarios. Guidelines included focusing on what classes do, not how, and experimenting with different configurations.
2. Collaborators were assigned using scenarios, class hierarchies, dependencies, and identifying client/server relationships through contracts. Collaborations can be hard to identify without role-playing.
3. Additional guidelines included looking for "kind of" relationships, distinguishing "part of" from "kind of", naming key abstractions, and looking for existing frameworks that could apply to the problem.
The document discusses different types of camera shots including long shots, mid shots, close ups, extreme close ups, two shots, wide shots, point of view shots, bird's eye views, and worm's eye views. Long shots show a whole person from a distance while close ups focus on shoulders and above. Mid shots show from the waist up and reveal facial expressions. Two shots capture two characters in a scene. Wide shots emphasize scale and distance in landscapes. Point of view shots make the audience feel worried for the person being watched without their knowledge. Bird's eye views look directly down to convey size while worm's eye views look directly up.
The passage discusses improved privacy of patient records. It aims to enhance privacy protections for patient health records and information by establishing stronger security requirements for systems that store or transmit protected health information. These changes are meant to help safeguard individuals' personal medical information in line with modern technologies and threats to privacy.

mLearning has been a buzzword in eLearning for decades. Nearly every year someone speculates that the time for mLearning has finally arrived – and just about that often we discover that still – very few people actually are producing their learning content for mobile devices. You can imagine then that it is with some trepidation that I enter into the arena, to echo voices that have often proclaimed a start to the mobile land-rush.

This document discusses conventions for music magazine design, including:
1. Common cover shots include close-ups, mid shots, and long shots of musicians. Inside pages often use close-ups and mid shots.
2. Magazine titles are usually short, bold, simple, and sometimes abbreviated.
3. Color schemes typically use 3-4 colors, often black and white plus one or two others.
4. Sell lines are short, bold, and simple to attract readers.
The document concludes that applying these conventional design elements should help the magazine attract its target urban audience.

The document discusses augmenting human memory in an age of information overload, where people are exposed to 80 new pieces of information per hour just from the web. It suggests that when people expect future access to information, they have lower recall of the information itself but better recall of where to access it. The document proposes three approaches to handling this problem: self-improvement, software like collective memory tools, and human augmentation as seen in fictional depictions like "The Entire History of You". It notes challenges in retrieval of specific past information, distinguishing important recordings from noise, remembering relationships between facts rather than just discrete facts, and how to selectively forget information.
The document provides information about London Biscuits Berhad, including its main activities in manufacturing and marketing cakes and snacks, interests of directors in shares of the company, members of the board of directors, chairman's message reviewing financial performance and profit, corporate structure chart, and compliance with financial reporting standards FRS 3 on business combinations and FRS 117 on leases.

This document summarizes the key features and capabilities of high speed infrared cameras. It discusses their spectral sensitivity bands, including shortwave, midwave, and longwave. It describes the image resolutions available from different detector array sizes and pixel pitches. It also covers high speed camera features like short exposure times, high frame rates, and event triggering. Finally, it lists several applications that benefit from these cameras, such as infrared inspection, hyperspectral imaging, target tracking, and medical thermography.
The document describes a chemistry experiment involving the filtration of lead(II) sulfate from sodium sulfate. It involves mixing lead(II) nitrate solution with sodium sulfate to form a precipitate of lead(II) sulfate. This mixture is then filtered using filter paper to separate the solid lead(II) sulfate residue from the liquid sodium sulfate filtrate. Filtration works because the filter paper acts as a sieve, allowing the liquid to pass through while retaining the solid particles.
Play as Product: How Play and Playfulness can help us build better Products a...Rosemary Elizabeth King
How do we take user needs and real-world problems and come up with something new? How can we be innovative all the time.
As children, we played in order to learn about the world around us and press against our growing boundaries. We took wild journeys of fantasy where every object in front of us had possibilities. This concept of child-eyes essentially means abandoning our ingrained assumptions about the world around us and seeing something with a sense of innocence.
This talk will cover the concept of play as a cognitive developer, examine case studies where play and imagination contributed to amazing product design, and give some ideas as to how we can continue to do this with our team and on our own everyday to help strengthen our "play" muscles

This document discusses how to make enterprise IT more engaging by embracing social networks, BYOD, open source technologies, cloud computing as a philosophy, and DIY approaches. Some specific strategies mentioned include using social networks to create social intranets and help desks, embracing BYOD by supporting HTML5 responsive designs and dealing with Android complexity, leveraging open source tools like Ansible, Redis, and Solr Cloud, and empowering employees to build their own apps by opening up APIs. The overall goal is to move from a traditional "ugly" enterprise IT model to a more "sexy" and vivacious one that focuses on people over transactions and empowers knowledge sharing.

True Storage Virtualization with Software-Defined StorageCloudOps Summit
The document discusses software-defined storage and how it can virtualize, automate, and centralize storage management. It describes how software-defined storage abstracts physical storage into virtual pools that can be delivered as storage services. These services can be integrated with platforms like VMware and provisioned on-demand to applications in a self-service manner. The software-defined storage approach aims to simplify storage delivery while allowing for extensibility and an open platform for innovation.
