“HEART DISEASE”
Heart disease is the most
common cause of death in most
    countries worldwide,
  particularly in developing
countries. It continues to be the
number one killer of Malaysians.
WHAT

   IS

        HEART

          DISEASE
If the pumping action of the heart
  becomes inefficient, vital organs like
the brain and kidneys suffer. And if
  the heart stops working altogether,
  death occurs within minutes. Life
itself is completely dependent on the
    efficient operation of the heart.

Type
   of
HEART
DISEASE
Coronary heart disease (CHD)

It is a condition in
   which plaque
 deposits block the
  coronary blood
vessels leading to a
reduced supply of
 blood and oxygen
    to the heart.
Congestive heart failure

             It is a condition
            where the heart
               cannot pump
            enough blood to
          the rest of the body.
             It is commonly
             known as heart
                   failure.
Angina pectoris

 It is a medical term
   for chest pain that
     occurs due to
 insufficient supply of
blood to the heart.The
    chest pain is at
  intervals ranging for
    few seconds or
        minutes..
Heart Attack

A heart attack occurs
if the flow of oxygen-
rich blood to a section
    of heart muscle
  suddenly becomes
blocked. If blood flow
 isn't restored quickly,
  the section of heart
muscle begins to die.
CAUSES?
SMOKING

   Smoking is a major risk
  factor. Carbon monoxide
    (from the smoke) and
nicotine both put a strain on
the heart by making it work
faster. They also increase your
       risk of blood clots.
THOMROBOSIS

 A thrombosis is a blood
clot within an artery. If a
  thrombosis occurs in a
   coronary artery, it will
cause the artery to narrow,
preventing the blood supply
   from reaching the heart
 muscle, which increases
 your chance of having a
        heart attack.
DIABETES
Diabetes can lead to heart disease
because it may cause the lining of
blood vessels to become thicker, which
       can restrict blood flow.
SYMPTOM
CHEST PAIN

  Most heart attacks
involve discomfort in
 the center or left side
of the chest that often
 lasts for more than a
  few minutes or goes
away and comes back.
HEART PALPITATIONS

           Palpitations, an unusual
         awareness of the heartbeat, is
            an extremely common
           symptom. Most people
               who complain of
          palpitations describe them
            either as "skips" in the
          heartbeat or as periods of
             rapid and/or irregular
                   heartbeats.
LIGHTHEADEDNESS OR DIZZINESS

   Anybody experiencing
episodes of lightheadedness or
   dizziness ought to have a
    thorough and complete
  examination by a physician.
  And since disorders of so
   many organ systems can
   cause these symptoms, a
    good general internist or
family doctor may be the best
         place to start.
WHO
   HAVE

SUFFERING
HEART
DISEASE
LATIFF IBRAHIM

                     On December 18 last, he
                          was rushed to the
                      National Heart Institute
                     (IJN) from a heart attack.
                      Until late that afternoon
                       finally went left us all.

(1950-2012)
BOB KUMAN

 Comedian, actor and
singer Husni Mohd Rawi
 or Bob Kuman, 41, was
pronounced dead at his
  home, in Section 11,
    Kota Damansara,
Petaling Jaya, at 4:38 pm
3 mei 2012, due to heart
      complications,
    hypertension and
       pneumonia.
FAIZAL YUSOF

       Faizal Yusof, who was
        later confirmed dead.
       The cause of death is
        said to be from heart
      disease. Died in hospital
            late Pusrawi.
HOW
     TO
   PREVENT
HEART DISEASE
MEDICINES

            Some heart medications
                treat heart disease and
            some help prevent it. Some
            may help lower your blood
            pressure, reduce the level of
             cholesterol in your blood
or help your body get rid
             of excess fluids that make
             it difficult for your heart
                   to pump blood.
QUIT SMOKING

If you find it hard to
 quit smoking on your
own, consider joining
a support group. Many
 hospitals, workplaces,
and community groups
  offer classes to help
 people quit smoking.
FOLLOW HEALTHY DIET

               A healthy diet
             includes a variety of
             vegetables and fruits.
              These foods can be
           fresh, canned, frozen, or
dried. A good rule is to
try to fill half of your
            plate with vegetables
                   and fruits.
MAINTAIN HEALTHY WEIGHT

 If you're overweight or
 obese, try to lose weight.
   Cut back your calorie
    intake and do more
   physical activity. Eat
   smaller portions and
choose lower calorie foods.
Your health care provider
    may refer you to a
   dietitian to help you
  manage your weight.
SO,
Heart disease is our nations
number one killer. We must have
a healthy lifestyle so that we can
 prevent this disease. The most
  important things is we must
avoid from be a smokers because
smoking is main factor lead to
         heart disease.
