About Voices of Partition
The 1947 Partition Archive’s Voices of
Partition global event series, held in
collaboration with universities across the
world, educates the public on Partition
using the power of oral history as a tool for
creating empathy and grassroots learning.
At Voices of Partition, the public has the
opportunity to view incredible
crowdsourced footage from witness
interviews, and hear live first-hand accounts
from local Partition witnesses. Often a free oral history workshop follows, bringing
this unique and powerful storytelling format to students of all ages. In 2015,
Voices of Partition will be held in collaboration with universities in Seattle, Santa
Clara, Berkeley, Stanford, New York, Islamabad, Lahore, and more.

Promotional Methods
The Web: Event landing pages are hosted by Eventbrite and will be
advertised on our official website: www.1947partitionarchive.org.
Furthermore, the event landing page will be posted on our official social
media pages with a following of over 200,000. Your (sponsor) logo will be
posted on Eventbrite as well as our website and social media pages.
Expected reach: 300,000+ viewers.
Email: The event will be advertised through our email listservs, which
include various departments of large universities, like UC Berkeley. These
listservs also include all previous donors, interviewees, and individuals
who’ve expressed interest in the Archive.
Posters: For each event, hundreds of posters are made and distributed
around the city. These posters will be viewed by thousands of citizens as
our events are located in highly populated cities.
Mail: Postcards advertising the event and displaying the event flyer will be
made and distributed to nearly 1000 Archive members.
Collaborator Resources: Voices of Partition will be held in partnership with
University of Washington’s South Asia Center. Our partners will send emails
and publicize the event on their own websites and listservs as well, with a
reach of over 100,000 viewers.

Voices of Partition – Seattle will take place at the University of
Washington’s Walker Ames Room in Kane Hall. The venue can hold
up to 200 people and the event will last for two hours.
University of Washington – South Asia Center
The University of Washington is located in Seattle, Washington and has an
undergraduate enrollment of 29,000 students. The campus hosts a variety of
multicultural clubs that will participate in and advertise the event.
Santa Clara

Voices of Partition – Santa Clara will take place at the deSaisset
museum at Santa Clara University. The venue can hold up to 175
people and the event will last for two hours.

Voices of Partition – Berkeley is set to take place at the University of
California, Berkeley in the fall of 2015. A previous Berkeley event was
held in the fall of 2014 and had a successful turn out of over 100
attendees.
University of California, Berkeley

home to over 25,000 undergraduate students. Including postgraduate students,
