3. 1. Introduction
Climate Change is the change in the statistical
distribution of weather patterns when that change lasts
for an extended period of time.
Climate change adaptation is the response to global
warming and climate change.
It seeks to reduce the vulnerability, counterbalancing the
global warming effects.
4. Need of adaptation in agriculture:
Need to produce 50 % more food by 2050, but
climate change could cut crop yields by over 25
%.
815 million population in the world still go
hungry.
Necessary to cope with climatic hazards that
impacts agriculture, increase agricultural
production and ultimately to cope with
global hunger problem.
5. 2. Objectives
General Objective:
The general objective is to know the adaptation practices on
agriculture due to climate change.
To know the productivity trend of agricultural crops since past
few years.
To find the major impacts on agriculture.

7. 4. Methodology
The methodologies involved are:
Primary data collection:
Questionnaire survey: Questions were prepared and 15
households were randomly selected and result was analyzed in
pre-determined study area.
Field Visiting: Our team visited the study area and analyze the
crop condition at Karra.
Secondary data collection:
Radio, TV

8. 5. Result and discussion
Respondents lack knowledge on climate change.
The main impact on agriculture is due to unseasonable
heavy rainfall and flash flood.
Out of 15 respondents, 8 think that there is impact in
their agriculture, 4 are unaware about climate change 3
are unaware about impacts.
People have adopted some practices to cope with
climate change.
9. Impacts on agriculture
Out of total respondents, 73% are unknown
about climate change and rest of 27% have
knowledge on it.
According to respondents, unseasonal rainfall,
flash floods on Karra river and moisture stress
during winter are climatic hazards influencing
agriculture.

11. Adaptation practices on agriculture
Several techniques are adopted to cope with climate
change.
Embankment in Karra
Riverside plantation
Plantation of flood tolerant species. Eg: paddy
cultivation.
12. 6. Conclusion
People are unaware of climate change and its impacts on
agriculture.
No programs are conducted from government level or
NGOs relating to climate change.
Agriculture is not severely impacted.
Certain adaptation measures are done to cope with climate
change.
13. 7. Recommendation
Awareness about climate change should be done.
Agricultural sector should be prioritized and adaptation
techniques should be launched by the government.
Development and promotion of new crop varieties should
be done.
Agricultural markets should be improved.
