- 2. WIINTECH project 1. This project has been conducted within the European Commission initiative aiming to promote the internationalization of European cluster and to develop world class cluster practices. 2. The project WIINTECH aimed to build a common international strategy between a set of European clusters aiming to : – fostering the already accomplished intercluster and transnational partnerships, – extending them to international cooperation towards internationally leading clusters (technology and industrial partnerships, training, tech transfer, mobility, mentoring…), – focusing on green materials for clean tech markets. 3. WIINTECH project has been conducted from January 2012 to December 2013 This initiative is supported by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry and financed under the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP). 2 December 2013

WIINTECH: Project learnings Achievements Identified difficulties Next steps Establishment of bridges, privileged contacts Difficult for SMEs to invest in countries (e.g. Brazil ) Soft landing involving incubators’ centres: inward and outward Attract companies from the selected countries Very good experience to share, model of action to propose Countries selected might not be appropriate for everybody Have large groups mentoring SMEs in countries like Brazil The model can be extended to other geographical areas as it works 8 partners in the consortium vs 3-4 for the other projects, different views Have a political support to develop towards OEM in Brazil, India…and to prepare the collaboration with China Foster and develop the relationships with the identified partners (within MOUs) Difficulty to involve SMEs in the project Opportunities between members of the consortium This initiative is supported by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry and financed under the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP). 18 December 2013
