To develop and implement participatory rangeland management as an
effective land use planning and natural resource management system
in Ethiopia’s rangelands.

8. Achievements
• Condition of rangeland resources and users assessed: 4 kebeles
• Pastoralist experience exchange visit was organized for 31 community members to
Borena & Guji Zone
• Community to Community Extension Conducted for two rounds (from PFM to
PRM)
• 4 RM bylaw documents including internal bylaw prepared by 4 RM cooperatives
• The developed bylaws were ratified at community level
• Four rangeland management cooperatives have registered at Zone cooperative
promotion and got legal entity
• PRM manual developed based on the practical experience on the ground
