“When you see the children that I will give you, then you will acknowledge
that I am the holy God…”(Isaiah 29:23)
Peace to you from the Lord, dear brothers and sisters!
Many of you have supported the evangelistic project – the camp for blind children
– with the help of your prayers and donations. We met 38 children in Transcarpathia in
the village of Poliana. Many of them are orphans or from disadvantaged families – they
attended such camp for the first time. We gladly suggest that you read the impressions of some who participated:
“The opportunity to serve blind children has become for me a great
blessing from GOD! It was a unique camp where each child received a lot
of love and attention. Many children for the first time in their lives rode
horses, swam in the pool, went hiking, cooked at campfires, got acquainted
with a waterfall, went for a ride on a chair lift and on a bungee. And all this
excited them so much! The children have expanded and increased their
worlds, which previously was limited to just a house and a boarding school.
We had a lot of adventures and communication every day. But the most
important thing was that the children met Jesus! By the end of the camp, the
children had opened up. They smiled, played, sang, and the most
emotionally closed ones, whom we had prayed about a lot, learned to accept
love. The children, as well as we adults, struggled every day with a giant
ГОЛИАФ (Goliath) – Гордость (Pride), Обиды (Grudges), Ложь (Lies),
Идолы (Idols), Агрессия (Aggression), Фобии (Fears/Phobias)” – from
the letter of the servant-conductor, Olga Tretyakova.
The children insisted on being treated like ordinary people, not like those with disabilities. They showed
great independence. However, they trusted completely their adult leaders. Getting into difficult situations, they
stretched out their hands to lead them. I compared this situation with our lives. When we are overcome with
difficulties and feel ourselves blind and helpless, the only thing that can help is to stretch out our hands, trusting
the Lord completely, who sees everything in time and space, and will lead us out of any narrowness of
circumstances” – a conductor, Tanya Pristupa.
“This camp left a special mark on my life. I am grateful to God that He used me in this service. Not being
experienced in communication and work with the blind, I was very worried but God has shown His strength in
my helplessness. I met with the children already on the train. (Continued on the back…)
