This document discusses using a systems biology approach to identify external proteins involved in maintaining the stemness of human embryonic stem cells. Microarray and protein interaction data will be analyzed to build an interactome model and identify candidate proteins. In silico experiments and predictions will be used to design further experimental validation, including RNA interference and qPCR experiments using hESCs and differentiated cells, to better understand stemness and support applications in regenerative medicine and drug screening.
