8. ABOUT UCCI
UCCI was founded on Feb. 12, 1965 and nurtured in
its formative years, under the strong hands of
Founder President, Shri P.P. Singhal. UCCI, a multi-
sectoral Chamber, completes 50 years of its role as a
catalyst in the economic development of Southern
Rajasthan encompassing Trade, Industry, Mining,
Tourism, Education and all sectors of Commerce.
UCCI is accredited with ISO 9001, 14001 & 18001
certifications, and representing an investment of
around 37000 crores of rupees.
Its membership comprises various Associations and
over 450 direct members, with mega corporate and
the smallest of micro and small enterprises, providing
representation to over 3000 enterprises, across the
districts of Banswara, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh,
Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Sirohi &
Udaipur. UCCI is affiliated with FICCI, CII, PHDCCI,
FIMI, CAIT and other leading organizations of the
country. It has established itself as the voice of the
region's Trade & Industry at the National and State
level.
UCCI actively engages with the Government to
facilitate policy Formulation & Infrastructure
Development to identify and iron out policy
bottlenecks for the ease in conduct of business. It
holds Workshops & Seminars towards Development
of businesses, Government policies and facilitating
Personality Development of individual entrepreneurs
for the development of future business leadership.
UCCI also provides various associated services viz.
Certificate of Origin, Attestation of Documents, Visa
Recommendation, Registration of Industries for
Hazardous Waste Disposal Facility, a platform for
resolution of issues with Government Departments,
including Monthly Camps with the Officers.
UCCI has maintained its cooperation with ZDH &
Sequa, German Business, Trade & Crafts
Organizations to augment the capacity and increase
the membership of the Chamber, over the past four
years.
Environment has been a focus area of this Chamber.
UCCI promoted the Hazardous Waste Management
Facility at Gudli set up with an outlay of Rs. 12 crores
and monitors it on an ongoing basis. This facility is a
major contribution towards conservation of the
environment and facilitates disposal of Hazardous
Waste of over 850 Industries across all the districts of
Rajasthan. Besides, UCCI has also developed the
Green Bridge Technology for treatment of Waste
water over the Ahar River. Soon, UCCI shall be
developing a CETP for Kaladwas Industrial Area with
an investment of Rs. 40 cr. We also have intension to
develop a disposal facility for Bio-Medical waste and
collection centre for E-waste (Industrial & Domestic).
In the years to come, UCCIs Vision is to develop
Udaipur as a hub for skill development in South
Rajasthan and promote the Region as an investment
destination with Business Prospects in Heritage.
