Stoizismus - Praktische Philosophie für den IT-Alltag (Pecha Kucha)

Es vergeht kaum ein Jahr in dem keine neue disruptive Technologie auftaucht. War es früher möglich mit moderatem Aufwand sich auf dem neuesten Stand zu halten, ist es inzwischen praktisch unmöglich geworden. Zusätzlich wird mit agilen Methoden entwickelt und gerade im Konzernumfeld schlagen vorhandene zwischenmenschliche und politische Spannungen dadurch oft bis auf den einzelnen Mitarbeiter durch. Auch ich sah mich in dieser Situation und war auf der Suche, wie ein sinnvoller Umgang damit aussehen kann. Dabei stieß ich auf die griechische Philosophie namens Stoizismus. Sie wird von vielen Menschen praktiziert, die sich in herausfordernden Lebensumständen befinden. Als ganzheitliche praxisfokusierte Philosophie richtet sich der Stoizismus vor allem an den einzelnen Menschen und hilft ihm dabei das höchste Ziel des glücklichen Daseins (Eudaimonía) anzustreben. In diesem Vortrag werden die Grundzüge des Stoizismus vorgestellt. Anschließend beschäftigen wir uns mit den wichtigsten Eigenschaften eines übenden Stoikers. Darunter auch emotionale Selbstbeherrschung. Diese können durch geeignete Übungen gezielt trainiert werden, um im Alltag mehr Gelassenheit zu bekommen und resilienter zu werden. Im Alltag lässt sich damit Stress vermeiden und der Fokus auf die möglichen Lösungen lenken anstatt nicht gewinnbringende Auseinandersetzungen einzugehen.

Presenter: Dr. Xin Wang, NII Paper: https://arxiv.org/abs/2111.07725 Self-supervised speech model is a rapid progressing research topic, and many pre-trained models have been released and used in various down stream tasks. For speech anti-spoofing, most countermeasures (CMs) use signal processing algorithms to extract acoustic features for classification. In this study, we use pre-trained self-supervised speech models as the front end of spoofing CMs. We investigated different back end architectures to be combined with the self-supervised front end, the effectiveness of fine-tuning the front end, and the performance of using different pre-trained self-supervised models. Our findings showed that, when a good pre-trained front end was fine-tuned with either a shallow or a deep neural network-based back end on the ASVspoof 2019 logical access (LA) training set, the resulting CM not only achieved a low EER score on the 2019 LA test set but also significantly outperformed the baseline on the ASVspoof 2015, 2021 LA, and 2021 deepfake test sets. A sub-band analysis further demonstrated that the CM mainly used the information in a specific frequency band to discriminate the bona fide and spoofed trials across the test sets.

Panoptic Feature Pyramid Network is an end-to-end panoptic segmentation network proposed by Facebook AI Research that uses Mask R-CNN for semantic segmentation tasks. It attaches a newly proposed semantic branch to Mask R-CNN to perform pixel-level classification for stuff classes. Experiments showed it achieved competitive results on standard datasets with less memory usage compared to other single panoptic segmentation networks. UPSNet is another unified panoptic segmentation network from Uber that uses Mask R-CNN with semantic and panoptic heads to merge outputs for panoptic segmentation. It also achieved state-of-the-art performance on benchmarks while using fewer parameters.

해당 논문은 3D Aware 모델입니다 StyleGAN 같은 경우에는 어떤 하나의 피처에 대해서 Editing 하고 싶을 때 입력에 해당하는 레이턴트 백터를 찾아서 레이턴트 백터를 수정함으로써 입에 해당하는 피쳐를 바꿀 수 있었는데 이런 컨셉을 그대로 착안해서 GAN 스페이스 논문에서는 인풋이 들어왔을 때 어떤 공간적인 정보까지도 에디팅하려고 시도했습니다 결과를 봤을 때 로테이션 정보가 어느 정도 잘 학습된 것 같지만 같은 사람이 아닌 것 같이 인식되기도 합니다 이러한 문제를 이제 disentangle 되지 않았다라고 하는 게 원하는 피처만 변화시켜야 되는 것과 달리 다른 피처까지도 모두 학습 모두 변했다는 것인데 이를 좀 더 효율적으로 3D를 더 잘 이해시키기 위해서 탄생한 논문입니다.
