1. There is an old saying "What I hear I forgot,
What I see I remember, What I do I understand”
Research finding understands that generally we
learn one person through 1% by taste, 1.5 % by
touch,3.5% by smell,11% by hearing and 83%
through sight. We remember 20% of what we
hear,30% of what we see,50% of what we see
and hear,80% of what we say,90% of what we
say and do..
2. Audio-Visual Aids :

situations
•Motivate the learners
•Reduce verbalism

3. •Using Visual Aids should not be considered as a substitution for teaching. It
only meant to supplement oral and written presentation.
•Use of aids in the class room should not be confused with providing
entertainment. The aim of using aids should be to make learning more
interesting and effective.
•Aids must be suited to the age and intellectual level of the pupil and to the
nature and extent of their previous experiences
•Aids should be realistic in nature. The use of actual specimen should be
preferred to showing a photograph or slide
•When a teacher has to select one aid from among a possible set ,economy of

making the selection
