• Halfaker and Associates, LLC (Halfaker)
• CMMI as a Business Architecture Roadmap (Maturing Halfaker
Technology Projects across Practice Areas)

Security solutions to Federal Government customers
• Used CMMI-DEV as a roadmap to prioritize improving the
Company in 2014 and 2015, dramatically maturing how we
manage projects and Company operations
2. The CapabilityChallenge
What We Did: Built a Business Architecture, including:
1. Defined a meeting battle rhythm to systematically manage
Company operations, connecting annual strategic goals and
measures to weekly, monthly, and quarterly checkpoints
2. Built a three-tier (tailored) project management framework that
defines how to manage projects using Agile Scrum or Agile Kanban
3. Use opinionated tools (e.g. project templates for SharePoint
project sites, JIRA issue types, and JIRA workflows) to drive
behavioral change
4. Held teams accountable through monthly audits (based on ISO
9001 and PPQA), tracking issues with JIRA (overdue tickets are
reported to company leadership weekly)
Results
