CNC Turning Process for Lathe Machine
CNC turning process is a simple method of shaping metal or wood on a lathe. It is a machine tool which
rotates or turns a block of material to achieve rotational symmetry in a machine shop. As can be done
manually or by CNC machining. The computer numerically controlled CNC machine. A typical CNC
machining center is designed to remove material using a rotating cutter that moves laterally to a
workpiece mounted on a table or accessory.
In the CNC turning process, a piece of material is spun on a lathe and cutting tool is moved along two
axes of motion, transverse or longitudinal. The process is performed in an engine room. The cutting tool
is used to achieve the required depth and dimension. Turning can be on both sides, inside or outside
according to the requirements and specifications. Rotation occurs at the center of rotation which allows
control of movement of the tool through computer programs using numerical data. Parties that are too
large for the balance and cause difficulty in turning around a central point, you can work in a machining
center with a spindle U. The length is about 1000 mm turning between centers and has a drive power
and speed range up to 46kW and 4000 revolution / min, respectively.
CNC turning process cuts metal in various different forms, ranging from the flat, tapered ends , contour,
and filter radio profiles and threaded surfaces . These cut and machined metal parts used to create axes,
bars, bushings, bushings, pulleys and more. Many industries also used for manufacturing parts and
materials having circular cross section. The process is also applicable to more rigid materials that can be
controlled exclusively with the tool software. The process reduces the production cost, but at the other
end, limits the design flexibility.
CNC turning machines components is said to deliver a faster production rate with optimum
manufacturing accuracy. The automation of CNC turning process can achieve close dimensional
tolerances on each piece. Other advantages are high level of consistency or uniformity of parts,
achieving optimum cycle times for all components and faster execution of larger volume. As machines
