By instructional materials we mean the tools of
teaching and learning in and out of the classroom.
Instructional materials allow the instructor to
engage learners by supporting concepts through
the use of multimedia, including sound clips ,
videos ,images , hand –on experiences and
interactive games
4. The computer in class room can be used to
assist instruction and enhance learning. It is a
tool that can help manage instruction through
computer based testing, record keeping and
computer prescription of media, materials and
activities
5. Sources of instructional resources
instructional materials is should relate directly to the purpose
and objectives of the lesson, content or provided for
remediation, reinforcement or enrichment. The teachers must
consider each of the following before selecting instructional
resources.
a) The objectives
b) The students
c) The learning environment
d) The available resources

1. ONLINE RESOURCES
An online resource is material you find online. It can be an
online newspaper, magazine or television website such as NBC OR CNN.
Peer -reviewed journals, webpages, forums and blogs are also
online sources. Some other names for online sources are electronic
sources , web sources and internet sources.
Since so many sources are available online, it is important to know
which ones are reliable and how to cite them.

Instructional technology such as video cassettes or DVDs
can be effective means of enhancing instruction.
They can provide a bridge between the abstract world of the
text book and everyday reality.
Students may need advance preparation to develop ‘critical
viewing’ skill ,ie , visual literacy.
They can be stopped temporarily to discuss important
moment as they occur.

In 2011 YouTube for schools was introduces an
option program that allows schools to access thousands
of educational videos from vetted youTube channels like
BBC,TED and Khan Academy in safe and controlled
environment the teachers and admins choose what video
are available to their student.

Animation can draw students into the lesson while
illustrating specific concept. Some animations can provided
“ one way” instruction to the student, while other
animations can be highly interactive.
Benefits of these types of animations include providing
visual and auditory instruction of topics, providing a
memorable presentation of course and providing a resources
to which students of can return.

It is an effective way to motivate children. Any subject
especially science, environmental issues can be well taught
by the help of animation films and also other types of
geographical phenomenon, climate change can be well
depicted.
Any audio-visual tool is very effective as an educational
tool. It has great impact on cognitive skills. Using film
clippings help in understanding things better, remembering
them better and utilizing them better.
