• A miscarriage is the loss of a fetus before the
20th week of pregnancy. The medical term for a
miscarriage is spontaneous abortion, but the
condition is not an abortion in the common
definition of the term.

• Miscarriage is caused by problems that occur
during the process of early development.
• When the egg doesn't implant properly in the
uterus
• When the embryo has structural defects that
prevent it from developing.
• Having a baby at late age

• Vaginal spotting or bleeding can be one of the
signs in early pregnancy.
• Having abdominal pain, which usually begins
after you first have some bleeding. It may feel
crampy, mild, sharp or you may also feel lower
back pain.
• Pelvic pressure.
• Not being able to hear babies heart beat.

8. Miscarriage: a historical perspective.
• In ancient times people have been trying to avoid
miscarriages, as u can see in this example this is what
they did:
“Ancient cultures have applied a variety of fascinating
therapies to prevent the occurrence and reoccurrence of
miscarriage. Ceremonies of ritual purification, special
prayers, and a variety of medicinal therapies were
employed throughout the ages to prevent this feared
