Access to scientific information accelerates research, discovery and economic development. For more than a decade libraries take part in the open access movement to develop an environment which provides access to scientific information. Open access stakeholders and experts are working together to achieve these aims. The presentation will elaborate on the infrastructure of open access which bridges the gap between academia and society by sharing research findings in new ways. OpenAIRE is an initiative by the European Commission for an Open Access Infrastructure for Research in Europe to support open scholarly communication, Open Science and access to the research output of the European funded projects. The infrastructure of OpenAIRE supports the Open Science policy implemented in the programme Horizon2020 by the European Commission.
