Bruno studied philosophy at the Universities of Antwerp & Leuven. As a conscious objector he worked at the documentation centre of Sago, Latin America Centre. He started working as a bookseller, first temporarily at Fnac in Antwerp, then at Bookshop Walry in Ghent. In 1999 he took the opportunity to start studying again & started the master-after-master Information & Library Science at the University of Antwerp. In 2002 he joined the Flemish Library, Archive & Documentation Association VVBAD as a staff member. At the end of 2007 he became co-ordinator of this professional organisation.
