– Improvement of integrated tree-crop systems in Cameroon, through production,
post-harvest and marketing interventions;
– Enhancing cocoa-based farming system management in Cameroon –
Connecting sustainable crop production with post-harvest technologies for
nutrition and gender sensitive interventions ;
Nigeria:
Increasing farm productivity by optimal enterprise combinations in the cocoa-
based farming systems in the southwestern Nigeria ;
Ghana:
Sustainable plant management and rural financial services for smallholder
farmers’ livelihoods enhancement: Connecting farmers with societal actors in
the Ashanti Region of Ghana
Ivory Coast:
Sustainable intensification of food crops production in cocoa-based farming
systems in the department of Soubré (Côte d’Ivoire)
4. Burundi: Livestock integration in improved cassava-legumes systems for improved
livelihoods in Burundi
• The overall objective is to improve livelihood through livestock integration in improved
legume-cassava systems. Specific objectives are to:
DRC: Improvement of Cassava-Grain Legumes Production Systems through Livestock
Integration in Mushinga, South-Kivu, DRC”
• The overall objective was to improve beans-cassava-livestock integration production
systems in Mushinga, South-Kivu Province, DRC.
Ethiopia: Sustainable intensification of mixed tree-crop-livestock systems in Western
Ethiopia
• The overall goal is sustainable intensification of mixed -crop-tree -livestock systems in
Western Ethiopia - linking platform initiated interventions with systems analysis for
improved smallholder livelihood (food, nutrition, income) and natural resource status
in Humidtropics Field Sites in Ethiopia.
Kenya: Integrated soil fertility management for striga control and enhanced system
productivity in Western Kenya”
• The overall objective is to integrate soil fertility management for striga control and
enhance system productivity in Western Kenya.

Rwanda: Improving agro-forestry and Irish potato based cropping system in tropical
highlands of Northern Rwanda
• The overall objective was to increase overall farm and system productivity and
income while improving the integrity of the natural resource base, particularly soil in
Irish potatoes –tree – livestock ’ based cropping systems of Highlands of Rwanda.
Uganda: Evaluating Equitable Nutritional and Income options in Urban and Rural
settings of HT Uganda Action Sites
• The overall objective was to evaluate equitable nutritional and Income options in
urban and rural settings of Uganda Action Site.
