This document discusses establishing a community conservancy in the Mishmi Hills region to protect biodiversity. The Mishmi Hills are a biodiversity hotspot containing over 6,000 plant species and hundreds of animal species, including rare birds like Hodgson's Frogmouth and Ward's Trogon. The proposed conservancy would involve community participation to halt biodiversity loss through identifying threats, establishing salt licking places, and having a leader to guide conservation efforts. Local volunteers, women's groups, and school students would help support protecting species native to the region like the Mishmi Takin, Eastern Hoolock Gibbon, and Mechuka Flying Squirrel.
