This document outlines the objectives and requirements of the Strategic Project Grants Program, which funds collaborative research projects between academia and non-academic partners in targeted economic or social areas. Projects must involve a supporting organization that can apply the results, be well-defined in scope and duration, and fall under one of the target areas. Supporting organizations must be actively involved at all stages and provide guidance, validation and in-kind contributions. Proposals are evaluated on criteria like originality, quality, interactions and benefits to Canada. Recommended funding should allow objectives to be achieved within the proposed timeframe.

2. To stimulate collaboration in early stage research in the targeted areas.

4. The project must be well defined in duration, objectives and scope-Duration may be from one to three years

5. One or more supporting organizations that can apply the results must collaborate in the project

6. Supporting organization must be actively involved in all stages of the project-In-kind contributions are required, but cash is not

9. Be involved at all stages of the research(help to develop the proposal, interact with researchers and students, provide input to the project).

10. Provide guidance concerning the exploitation of the results.
