● Swiss-based global building materials and
aggregates company founded in 1912
● As of 2014, Holcim does business in more than 70
different countries and employs 71,000 people.
The company is the market leader in cement
production in Australia, Azerbaijan, India, Slovakia,
Switzerland, and Latin America.
● Cement, aggregates, and concrete are an
essential part of the built environment in nearly
every place worldwide. Without them most iconic
architecture would be unthinkable – be it
residential, commercial or infrastructure. In their
different product variations they are used in a
plethora of different kinds of projects ranging from
affordable housing, to roads and railways, bridges,
tunnels or high-rise towers.
