CKI DESIGN STUDIO INTRODUCES ECCO
East Boston Restaurant with Intimate Club Vibe
Boston, Mass. – October 20, 2008 – CKI Design Studio, a Boston-based design firm specializing
in the hospitality industry, announces the opening of client restaurant Ecco of 105-107 Porter
Street, East Boston, Mass.

project through the restaurant’s opening.

• Historic signature walls of Boston-area sports figures and celebrities a focal point in current
design. Bobby Orr, Ted Williams and others are featured.
Working with Ecco’s two entries, a front entrance from Porter Street and a rear door from the
parking area, CKI’s design brings users of each a different experience. Abstracting a sunset with
muted blue and brown hues, CKI treated the walls to present varying brightness – those entering
from the street will see more light and brighter colors that charge the space with energy, while
those coming from the parking area see a darker space and an elegant feel. The main dining
area is painted a twilight blue with dark finishes on the seating.
In designing Ecco’s interior, CKI gave a nod to Boston history by maintaining and featuring two
walls of signatures by such local notables as Bruins great Bobby Orr and Red Sox legend Ted
Williams. The signature walls line a club-style cocktail area where guests sit at small tables with
comfortable club chairs.
CKI has provided Ecco’s patrons with many different seating options, creating the feel of a much
larger establishment. The seating options are varied, from the club area to a long bar, to elevated
pub tables in the front window, to high-backed booths and banquette seating in the main area.
In addition to a full bar with a list of custom martinis, Ecco serves a full menu featuring tapas
created by chef David Fitzgerald.
