ARTS at AIRTEC and SpaceTech Expo Europe 2015

was on site at the trade fair and
presented new ways that
aerospace companies could design
their personnel processes even
more efficiently. We were able to
talk to many companies in industry
about possible collaborations. In
addition, our personnel manager,
Katja Lösche, presented our inter-
nally developed application
management software "Aerospace
MatchPro" to a broad audience as
part of the Expo conference
SpaceTech.

ARTS wins Diehl Aircabin as customer
ARTS is pleased to announce a new cooperation with Diehl Aircabin in the
form of a recently signed framework agreement. ARTS will support Diehl
Aircabin both in the production and administrative areas. We are

ARTS top job in December - painters in Manching
We are not only looking for qualified personnel for our newest clients Diehl
Aircabin. ARTS is currently offering numerous positions, including as a
painter at Airbus Defence and Space in Manching. Future areas of work
are doing lab preparation work and cleaning and masking. A completed
education as a process mechanic or painter and several years of
experience in the field of surface coating is desirable.

New high-tech uniforms from Easyjet
Nowadays, flight attendant uniforms are especially chic. Small
accessories such as scarves or headgear lift workwear above the clouds.
Now Easyjet is doing research with specialized technology company Cute
Circuit on smart uniforms that can communicate. The new clothing is
called wearables, there are computer applications that support the
activities of the wearer. Data can be displayed here, or stored and
transmitted, which should make the work of technicians and flight
attendants easier and make passenger journeys safer.
High-tech flight attendant uniforms show for example, by means of LEDs
on jacket lapels, information such as flight number and destination, a
built-in microphone simplifies communication between crew members,
pilots and passengers. For technicians, LEDs in the hoods of jackets
illuminate workspaces. In this way both hands are free for aircraft

3. inspection and maintenance. The smart uniforms will be tested in normal
working conditions by Easyjet staff from spring 2016.

Supersonic jet for managers is already in high demand
The US company Aerion developed the Aerion AS2 business jet in
collaboration with Airbus. Even before the actual production start, the
joint project has already achieved its first major contract. The business
airline Flexjet ordered 20 aircraft.
Flights with the planned supersonic jet AS2 will bring business people
enormous time savings. Trans-Pacific travel could be shortened by more
than six hours, the top speed of the jets would be, according to the
manufacturer, 1.5x the speed of sound and at 1,850km / h. In the future
the jet should be able to transport up to 12 passengers.
It will take some time until the three-engine jet lifts off. Construction is
expected to begin next year, the first flight is scheduled for 2021. For
this, Airbus intends to supply large parts of the aircraft with final
assembly done by Aerion itself. However, the aircraft will not be
delivered before the year 2023.
New DLR technology on airplane wings to increase lift
The German Aerospace Center
(DLR) is working on a system that
can influence flow over aircraft
wings. The aim is to increase the
lift of the engines. This should be
made possible with small slits in
the wing edge that emit air. After
computer simulations, the tech-
nique will soon be tested in a wind
tunnel. According to DLR the rea-
son for the research is the ever -
increasing size of aircraft engines.
They often sit under the wings and thus reduce the lift of the wing
surface. The larger the engine, the faster flight start up must be to obtain
lift and stability. The consequence: with the development of larger
engines longer runways must be used in the future.
To prevent this necessity, the researchers want to increase engine lift. By
periodically ejecting air through fine narrow double slits on the leading
edge of the aircraft wing, the flow characteristics can be actively
influenced on the profile surface.
The technology is virtually maintenance-free, according to DLR, yet it is
but only used in research aircraft. The scientists, however, want to make
the system ready for series production. That's why the technology is
being tested in a wind tunnel in Moscow, with real wings and engines. The
start is expected in the coming year.
