Faurecia Debuts at Shanghai Auto Show with Pioneering Technologies
That Make Tomorrow’s Vehicles ‘Cleaner, Smarter, Safer’
Faurecia, a global leader in providing engineering solutions and automotive components,
made its first appearance at the Shanghai Auto Show today. Showcasing cutting-edge
innovations in each of its four business groups – Automotive Seating, Emission Control
Technologies, Interior Systems and Automotive Exteriors – the company stood out not only
for its technological authority but also for its strong ambitions in China.
From April 19-28 at the Shanghai Auto Show (Hall W4, booth Nr C054), Faurecia is
showcasing a selection of its top products and innovations that enable local and international
automakers to take a cleaner and lighter approach to vehicle technology.
“As a key partner to automakers, being close to our customer base is critical. By
participating in the Shanghai Auto Show Faurecia would like our local Chinese customers to
have a first hand look at the technical expertise we offer. We want our customers to know
that while Faurecia is a global automotive player, China is at the top of our priority list. We
are not only manufacturing in China - we are innovating in China,” said Yann Delabrière,
Chairman and CEO of Faurecia.
Ten new vehicles launched at the Shanghai Auto Show are equipped by Faurecia. These
include four world premieres: Audi Q3, BMW 6-Series coupé, Citroën DS5 and Volkswagen
Beetle and a number of Asian/Chinese premieres among which the all-new Peugeot 508.
Q1-2011 group product sales soared 25% in China and 29% in Asia as a whole, with
Emissions Control Technologies experiencing strongest growth in the region. By 2015,
Faurecia aims to reach total China sales of €2.5 billion, a 150% growth versus fiscal 2010.
The Group inaugurated on April 12, in Minbei (Shanghai), its new Asian headquarters and
China R&D center for its emissions control technologies business group.
’Cleaner, Smarter, Safer’ is the theme of Faurecia’s exhibit as the company showcased why it
is the leader in all of its four business groups:
Faurecia Automotive Seating: N°1 worldwide for seat frames & mechanisms & N°3
worldwide for complete seats;
Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies: N°1 worldwide;
Faurecia Interior Systems: N°1 worldwide;
Faurecia Automotive Exteriors: N°2 worldwide.
