Hawaii is a state located in the central Pacific Ocean consisting of over 100 islands. Its capital and largest city is Honolulu. The state has a tropical climate and was originally settled by Polynesians. It was later ruled as a kingdom and republic before becoming a US state in 1959. Traditional Hawaiian culture continues to influence its cuisine, art, and religion today.
