God takes on the fiduciary responsibility of caring for Christians. When one becomes a Christian, their body becomes a temple of the Holy Spirit and they are bought with a price, so they must glorify God. God delivers Christians from corruption and bondage into freedom as God's children. Bad things may happen to Christians to keep them dependent on God, supply their needs, fulfill God's will in their lives, and protect them from harm.
1. Gods Fiduciary responsibility
Fiduciary
A person legally appointed and authorized to hold
assets in trust for another person. The fiduciary
manages the assets for the benefit of the other person
rather than for his or her own profit.
A loan made on trust rather than against some
security or asset.
2. When you became a Christian, God
took on the responsibility of caring
for you.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
19 What? know ye not that your body is the
temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you,
which ye have of God, and ye are not your
own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore
glorify God in your body, and in your spirit,
which are God's.
3. Romans 8
21 Because the creature itself also shall be
delivered from the bondage of corruption into
the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth
and travaileth in pain together until now.
4. What is of this bondage corruption?
• Bondage: the condition of being controlled by
something that limits freedom.
• Corruption: rotting or putrefaction, or the
state of being rotten or putrid.
We know every thing on earth is under this
bondage of corruption because it all dies.
5. 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which
have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we
ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for
the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our
body.
“they” unsaved, “we” saved (firstfruits of the
Spirit)
If you have a body (saved or not) its subject to
this bondage of corruption.
6. 24 For we are saved by hope (faith): but hope
that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth,
why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we
with patience wait for it.
The proof of your faith is equal to your waiting
patiently for unseen salvation.
7. 26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:
for we know not what we should pray for as
we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh
intercession for us with groanings which
cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth
what is the mind of the Spirit, because he
maketh intercession for the saints according
to the will of God. (1Cor. 2:10)
8. Gods Fiduciary responsibility
28 And we know that all things work together for
good to them that love God, to them who are
the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did
predestinate to be conformed to the image of
his Son, that he might be the firstborn among
many brethren.
9. Fringe benefits
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he
also called: and whom he called, them he also
justified: and whom he justified, them he also
glorified.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God
be for us, who can be against us?
(That could over rule God.)
10. 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered
him up for us all, how shall he not with him
also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's
elect? It is God that justifieth.
11. • One of the first areas Satan will attack will be
your relationship with God. He will attempt to
get you to believe that God does not care for
you and has bad motives.
Genesis 3:4-5
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall
not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat
thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and
ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
12. So why do bad things happen to
Christians?
TO KEEP US DEPENDENT ON
GOD
13. John 15:5
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that
abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth
forth much fruit: for without me ye can do
nothing.
• One of the most dangerous things which could
happen to a Christian is to try and live with an
independent spirit.
14. 2 Chr 14:11
And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and
said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help,
whether with many, or with them that have no
power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest
on thee, and in thy name we go against this
multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not
man prevail against thee.
16. (Phil 4:19) But my God shall supply all your need
according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
• If you are a born again Christian, then you are
in the Lord Jesus Christ and as a result all your
need will be supplied
17. God knows all our needs before we
even ask Him
Mat 6:8
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your
Father knoweth what things ye have need of,
before ye ask him.
19. Phil 1:6
Being confident of this very thing, that he which
hath begun a good work in you will perform it
until the day of Jesus Christ:
20. TO PROTECT US FROM
CIRCUMSTANCES WHICH WOULD
HARM US
21. 2 Ki 6:16-17
And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with
us are more than they that be with them. {17}
And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee,
open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD
opened the eyes of the young man; and he
saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of
horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
22. Eph 6:16
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith
ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of
the wicked.
23. • ANXIETY
(Isa 26:3) Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on thee: because he
trusteth in thee.
• DEFEAT
(Psa 60:12) Through God we shall do valiantly:
for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.
24. • DEPRESSION
(Psa 34:17) The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and
delivereth them out of all their troubles.
• DISCOURAGEMENT
(Psa 31:24) Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen
your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.
(Isa 41:10) Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not
dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea,
I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right
hand of my righteousness.
25. • FEAR
(Exo 14:13) And Moses said unto the people,
Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation
of the LORD, which he will show to you to day:
for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day,
ye shall see them again no more for ever.
26. • SELF PITY
(1 Cor 16:13) Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit
you like men, be strong.
(Heb 4:15-16) For we have not an high priest which
cannot be touched with the feeling of our
infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as
we are, yet without sin. {16} Let us therefore
come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we
may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time
of need.
27. • WORTHLESSNESS
(Mat 10:29-31) Are not two sparrows sold for a
farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the
ground without your Father. {30} But the very
hairs of your head are all numbered. {31} Fear
ye not therefore, ye are of more value than
many sparrows.
28. Time is subject to its creator
Psalm 37
7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him:
fret not thyself because of him who
prospereth in his way, because of the man
who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
29. The temptation of waiting
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not
thyself in any wise to do evil.
16 A little that a righteous man hath is better
than the riches of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken:
but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.
30. 23 The steps of a good man are ordered by
the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I
not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed
begging bread.
26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed
is blessed.
31. 39 But the salvation of the righteous is of
the LORD: he is their strength in the time of
trouble.
40 And the LORD shall help them, and deliver
them: he shall deliver them from the wicked,
and save them, because they trust in him.
