1. Prayer
God of life, we praise you for your abiding presence
from generation to generation, blessing your people,
strengthening us to lives of service,
and empowering us to witness.
Grant that as we serve you now on earth,
so we may one day rejoice with all the saints
in your kingdom of light and peace,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

2. The Church Calendar
November 7

3. The righteous (faithful/just) flourish like the palm tree,
and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
They are planted in the house of the Lord;
they flourish in the courts of our God.
In old age they still produce fruit;
they are always green and full of sap,
showing that the Lord is upright;
he is my rock, and there is no

we gather in worship around
a weekly celebration of God’s presence
in the elements of the communion table

10. 1 CORINTHIANS 11:23-26 (NRSV)
For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to
you, that the Lord Jesus, on the night when he was
betrayed, took bread; and when he had given thanks, he
broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do
this in remembrance of me.” In the same way
he also took the cup after supper, saying,
“This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this,
as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you
proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

primary filter of the crucified
and risen Christ

There’s nothing like the written (w)ord of God
for showing you the way to salvation through
faith in Christ Jesus. Every part of Scripture
is God-breathed and useful one way or another—
showing us truth, exposing our rebellion,
correcting our mistakes, training us
to live God’s way. Through the Word
we are put together and shaped up
for the tasks God has for us.

God of life and of growth,
make us as those who flourish like the palm tree,
as those who grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Plant us in your house; make us flourish in your courts.
