6. CONCEPTS OF GUIDANCE AND
COUNSELING
• Counseling is a relationship between two people where one
person attempts to assist the other to organize himself better
to attend a form of happiness by adjusting to the situation.
• The relationship between the counselor and the client help to
openly discus the problem faced by the client these helps to
increase the skills courage and self-confidence in the client
and create a new behavior in the client
• New methods are explored to identify solution for the
perceived problem faced by the client. Some times the client
may not find a solution but a discussion give a satisfaction to
the client
• Counseling also helps to develop a set of goals for future
behavior of an individual

20. COUNSELLOR PREPARATION
 EDUCATION :- master or bachelors degree in teaching and
education. They should have basic course in principles and parches
of the guidance programmed and additional area of training either in
behavior science of community health
 EXPERIENCE :- two yrs in teaching or counseling experience
 One year of cumulative work experience in the field of school
programmed
 3-6 month of supervised counseling experience
 Significant experience in social activities eg:- working within the
community, voluntary work
