Price
Marketing is composed of four activities centered
on customer value: creating, communicating,
delivering, and exchanging value
Eras of Marketing
 Product orientation: Companies believed that a

way to compete was to focus on product
innovation.
 Selling orientation: Companies believed that it
was necessary to push their products by heavily
emphasizing advertising and selling.
 Value era: Time when companies emphasize
creating value for customers.
 One-to-one era: Time when the way to compete
is to build relationships with customers one at a
time and seek to serve each customer’s needs
individually.

that recognizes that consumers want value no
matter how it is delivered, whether it’s via a
