Hi.
The internet is not safe. Online, anyone can pretend to be anyone. Forty year old men act like fifteen year old boys to talk to thirteen year old girls on MySpace. Spammers have hijacked how we think of brands - like Viagra . Anyone can download software to read other people’s email. Businesses spend billions of dollars communicating in inefficient ways to consumers who would love to reduce the clutter .
We used to think that being a part of a social network was worth surrendering our personal information – now we’re not so sure . There’s no way of knowing who to trust online.
The world is ready for a giant step forward in how we interact online. We want to be able to participate in all of the amazing things that the web can offer but don’t want to share the intimate details of our lives with strangers around the world. We want to be able to easily manage our disclosure and risk . We need a way of designating who we trust online and limiting who our personal information and communication is shared with.
TrustMe is an API-accessible, trust platform that developers may use to incorporate authentication, trusted relationships and secure communication within web sites and applications.
Users build a list of trusted contacts and organize them into groups using any TrustMe compatible application or web site. The groups and contacts are stored by the TrustMe managed universal Public Key Name Server ( PKNS ). Applications use the TrustMe API to check with the PKNS and confirm that a user is trusted by the contributor before permitting them to access the information or message. How TrustMe Works
TrustMe builds powerful enterprise email security software that incorporates our trust technology to service the explosive $3.5 billion worldwide demand for email security - a market with forecasted revenue expected to exceed $6 billion by 2010 . SOURCE: Radicati Group 2006 The Money TrustMe encourages innovation using our platform by making it available free to anyone who would like to add Trust to an application or web site. There are scaled access fees for commercial applications which generate a large volume of system calls to our PKNS service. TrustMe also continues to develop and sell our enterprise email security applications, all of which have been built using the TrustMe development platform.
Paul Gunn CFO Mike Mullen CTO Brian Flood Co-CEO Elisabeth Rybak Co-CEO Built on open standards, TrustMe is platform and application independent. We don’t mine personal information. We don’t subscribe to a business model that incorporates targeted advertising. We are dedicated to one goal: Protect your privacy and keep you safe online. BriefMe Facts: Founded in 2004 , TrustMe is headquartered in Moncton , New Brunswick Canada with satellite offices in nearby Fredericton and Saint John . TrustMe has over 260 angel investors. We have enough angel investors to play twenty simultaneous full-strength hockey games. Before founding TrustMe Co-CEO Elisabeth Rybak founded Whitehill Technologies and Co-CEO Brian Flood founded Q1 Labs .
