5. MAJOR
EQUIPMENT
THE
Isopropyl Alcohol /
Isopropanol Plant uses
propylene and sulfuric acid
to make IPA through a 3-
stage process of Absorption,
Hydrolysis, and Distillation.
Crude IPA is refined to
Finished IPA in three basic
steps: 1) removal of light end
impurities and crude
Isopropyl Ether (IPE) (to
produce IPA-CBM which is
the azeotrope of IPA and
water); 2) dehydration of IPA-
CBM; and 3) IPA finishing.
The Isopropyl Alcohol Plant
comes complete with the following equipment:
Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers
Stainless Steel Cooler Condensers
Stainless Steel Pressure Vessels
Carbon Steel & Stainless Steel Tanks
Storage Tanks
Deethanizers
Depropanizers
C3 Neutralizer
Reboilers
Surface Condenser
