Japan, university students usually join the companies on April 1st, right after their graduation from the university. And most of the companies employ new graduates all at once on only April 1. For this reason, students usually spend much time of their final year of the university looking for a job so that they can join the companies on April 1, as the other students do.
China? The recruitment season here is the same as the UK (September to December). However, candidates do not apply a year in advance but rather when they have completed their university course.
India? “placement cells”, which, as their name suggests, place graduates in jobs after graduation.
So the broad answer to your question is that the graduate recruitment cycle in India revolves around graduation (May/June/July). This works against Indian students who get their degrees overseas because they miss out on this placement process.
