Choir: Kindle a Light – Music by Michael Fleming (19282006); Text by Michael Forster (born 1946)
Kindle a light to lighten the darkness,
Kindle a light each nation and race:
God in the poor is coming to meet us,
Kindle a light to shine on His face.
Kindle a light to lighten the darkness,
Kindle a light for all who despair:
God in the poor is coming to judge us,
Kindle a light with fasting and prayer.
Kindle a light to lighten the darkness,
Kindle a light in places of shame,
God in the poor is coming to heal us,
Kindle a light with hope in its flame.
Kindle a light to lighten the darkness,
Kindle a light for sorrow to cease:
God in the poor is coming to free us,
Kindle a light for justice and peace.
PRAYER
Let us pray.
God of justice and peace,
from the heavens you rain down mercy and kindness,
that all on earth may stand in awe and wonder
before your marvelous deeds.
Raise our heads in expectation,
that we may yearn for the coming day of the Lord
and stand without blame before your Son, Jesus Christ,
who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.

HYMN (please stand)
Come, thou almighty King,
help us thy name to sing,
help us to praise!
Father all glorious,
o'er all victorious,
come and reign over us, Ancient of Days!
Come, thou incarnate Word,
gird on thy mighty sword,
our prayer attend!
Come, and thy people bless,
and give thy word success,
Spirit of holiness, on us descend!
Come, holy Comforter,
thy sacred witness bear
in this glad hour.
Thou who almighty art,
now rule in every heart,
and ne'er from us depart, Spirit of power!
To thee, great One in Three,
eternal praises be,
hence, evermore.
Thy sovereign majesty
may we in glory see,
and to eternity love and adore!
(Please be seated for the reading.)
FIRST READING: Jeremiah 33: 14-16 (read by Ross Hewitt)
The days are surely coming, says the LORD, when I will fulfill the
promise I made to the house of Israel and the house of Judah.
In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch to
spring up for David; and he shall execute justice and
righteousness in the land.
In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in
safety. And this is the name by which it will be called: "The Lord is
our righteousness."
The word of the Lord:
Thanks be to God.
PRAYER
Let us pray together.
O God of all the prophets,
ALL: you herald the coming of the Son of Man
by wondrous signs in the heavens and on the earth.
Guard our hearts from despair so that we,
in the company of the faithful
and by the power of your Holy Spirit,
may be found ready to raise our heads
at the coming near of our redemption,
the day of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Choir: Adam lay ybounden – Music by Howard Skempton
(born 1947); Text: 15thc.
Anonymous
Adam lay ybounden,
Bounden in a bond;
Four thousand winter
Thought he not too long.
And all was for an apple,
An apple that he took,
As clerkës finden written
In their book.
Nor had one apple taken been,
The apple taken been,
Then had never Our Lady
A-been heaven's queen.
Blessed be the time
That apple taken was.
Therefore we may singen
Deo gratias!
PRAYER
God of timeless grace,
you fill us with joyful expectation.
Make us ready for the message that prepares the way,
that with uprightness of heart and holy joy
we may eagerly await the kingdom of your Son, Jesus Christ,
who reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, now and for ever. Amen.

SECOND READING: Baruch 5:1-9 (read by Teresa Johnson)
Take off the garment of your sorrow and affliction, O Jerusalem,
and put on forever the beauty of the glory from God.
Put on the robe of the righteousness that comes from God; put on
your head the diadem of the glory of the Everlasting;
for God will show your splendor everywhere under heaven.
For God will give you evermore the name, "Righteous Peace,
Godly Glory." Arise, O Jerusalem, stand upon the height; look
toward the east, and see your children gathered from west and
east at the word of the Holy One, rejoicing that God has
remembered them.
For they went out from you on foot, led away by their enemies;
but God will bring them back to you, carried in glory, as on a royal
throne.
For God has ordered that every high mountain and the
everlasting hills be made low and the valleys filled up, to make
level ground, so that Israel may walk safely in the glory of God.
The woods and every fragrant tree have shaded Israel at God's
command.
For God will lead Israel with joy, in the light of his glory, with the
mercy and righteousness that come from him.
The word of the Lord:
Thanks be to God.
HYMN (Please stand)
There’s a voice in the wilderness crying,
A call from the ways untrod:
Prepare in the desert a highway,
A highway for our God!
The valleys shall be exalted,
The lofty hills brought low;
Make straight all the crooked places,
Where the Lord our God may go!
O Zion, that bringest good tidings,
Get thee up to the heights and sing!
Proclaim to a desolate people
The coming of their King.
Like the flowers of the field they perish,
The works of men decay,
The power and pomp of nations
Shall pass like a dream away.
But the word of our God endureth,
The arm of the Lord is strong;
He stands in the midst of nations,
And He will right the wrong.
He shall feed His flock like a shepherd,
And fold the lambs to His breast;
In pastures of peace He’ll lead them,
And give to the weary rest.
There’s a voice in the wilderness crying,
A call from the ways untrod:
Prepare in the desert a highway,
A highway for our God!
The valleys shall be exalted,
The lofty hills brought low;
Make straight all the crooked places,
Where the Lord our God may go!
PRAYER
Let us pray together:
Out of the embrace of mercy and righteousness,
ALL: you have brought forth joy and dignity for your people,
O Holy One of Israel.
Remember now your ancient promise:
make straight the paths that lead to you,
and smooth the rough ways,
that in our day
we might bring forth your compassion
for all humanity. Amen.
Please be seated.
Choir: Lo, how a rose e’er blooming – music by Michael
Praetorious (1571-1621)
Lo, how a rose e'er blooming,
From tender stem hath sprung.
Of Jesse's lineage coming,
As men of old have sung;

It came, a flow'ret bright,
Amid the cold of winter,
When half spent was the night.
Isaiah 'twas foretold it,
The Rose I have in mind,
With Mary we behold it,
The virgin mother kind;
To show God's love aright,
She bore to men a Savior,
When half spent was the night.
PRAYER
Let us pray.
God of hope,
you call us home from the exile of selfish oppression
to the freedom of justice,
the balm of healing,
and the joy of sharing.
Make us strong to join you in your holy work,
as friends of strangers and victims,
companions of those whom others shun,
and as the happiness of those whose hearts are broken.
We make our prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
READING: Zephaniah 3:14-20 (read by Dr. Virginia Wright)
Sing aloud, O daughter Zion; shout, O Israel! Rejoice and exult
with all your heart, O daughter Jerusalem!
The LORD has taken away the judgments against you, he has
turned away your enemies. The king of Israel, the LORD, is in
your midst; you shall fear disaster no more.
On that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: Do not fear, O Zion; do
not let your hands grow weak.
The LORD, your God, is in your midst, a warrior who gives
victory; he will rejoice over you with gladness, he will renew you in
his love; he will exult over you with loud singing, as on a day of
festival. I will remove disaster from you, so that you will not bear
reproach for it.
I will deal with all your oppressors at that time. And I will save the
lame and gather the outcast, and I will change their shame into
praise and renown in all the earth.
At that time I will bring you home, at the time when I gather you;
for I will make you renowned and praised among all the peoples of
the earth, when I restore your fortunes before your eyes, says the
Lord.
The word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.
PRAYER
Let us pray together:
O God of the exiles and the lost,
ALL: you promise restoration and wholeness
through the power of Jesus Christ.
Give us faith to live joyfully,
sustained by your promises
as we eagerly await the day when they will be fulfilled
for all the world to see,
through the coming of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Choir: Mary’s Magnificat – Andrew Carter (born 1939)
Softly a light is stealing,
Sweetly a maiden sings,
Ever wakeful, ever wistful.
Watching faithfully, thankfully, tenderly
Her King of kings.
My soul doth magnify the Lord:
And my spirit hath rejoiced,
rejoiced in God my Saviour.
Mary her song to Jesus Softly, serenely sings:
‘I will love you,
I will serve you,
May my lullaby glorify,
magnify My King of kings.’
PRAYER
O God of Elizabeth and Mary,
you visited your servants with news of the world's redemption
in the coming of the Savior.
Make our hearts leap with joy,
and fill our mouths with songs of praise,
that we may announce glad tidings of peace,
and welcome the Christ in our midst. Amen.

READING: Micah 5:2-5a (read by Rhonda Boyce )
But you, O Bethlehem of Ephrathah, who are one of the little
clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to
rule in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient days.
Therefore he shall give them up until the time when she who is in
labor has brought forth; then the rest of his kindred shall return to
the people of Israel.
And he shall stand and feed his flock in the strength of the LORD,
in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God. And they shall
live secure, for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth; and
he shall be the one of peace.
The word of the Lord:
Thanks be to God.
Choir: Ave Maria – Music by Simon Lindley (born 1948)
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
PRAYER
Shepherd of Israel,
ALL: you gently support the one who is with child
Stir our hearts to recognize Christ's coming,
as Elizabeth recognized his presence
in Mary's rejoicing, and open our hearts to receive the one
who came to love your flock. Amen.
Please stand for the Gospel.
Deacon: The Lord be with you.
All: And also with you.
Deacon: The Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to
Matthew.
All: Glory to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in
heaven, nor the Son but only the Father. As it was in the days of
Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the
days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying
and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and
they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came
and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the
Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and
the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one
will be taken and the other left. “Therefore keep watch, because
you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand
this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the
thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have
let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because
the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
Deacon: The Gospel of Christ.
All: Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer of Confession
Most merciful God
we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word and deed,
by what we have done,
and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbours as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,
Have mercy on us and forgive us,
that we may delight in your will,
and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your name. Amen.
Absolution
The Exchange of the Peace
(We greet and exchange the Peace of Christ with our neighbours.)

Affirmation of Faith
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of
heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from
Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one
being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For
us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the
power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin
Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified
under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and as buried. On the
third day he rose again in accordance with the scriptures; he
ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God
the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and
the dad, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who
proceeds from the Father and the Son, with the Father and
the Son he is worshipped and glorified. he has spoken
through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and
apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the
forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

OFFERTORY HYMN
Sing of Mary, pure and lowly,
Virgin mother undefiled,
Sing of God's own Son most holy,
Who became her little child.
Fairest child of fairest mother,
God the Lord who came to earth,
Word made flesh, our very brother,
Takes our nature by his birth.
Sing of Jesus, son of Mary,
In the home at Nazareth.
Toil and labour cannot weary
Love enduring unto death.
Constant was the love he gave her,
Though he went forth from her side,
Forth to preach, and heal, and suffer,
Till on Calvary he died.
Glory be to God the Father;
Glory be to God the Son;
Glory be to God the Spirit;
Glory to the Three in One.
From the heart of blessed Mary,
From all saints the song ascends,
And the Church the strain reechoes
Unto earth's remotest ends.

Presider:
All:

Glory to God,
whose power, working in us,
can do infinitely more
than we can ask or imagine.
Glory to God from generation to generation,
in the Church and in Christ Jesus,
for ever and ever. Amen.

Sanctus, Benedictus & Agnus Dei New Plainsong - David Hurd
Prayer over the Gifts
God of love and power, your word stirs within us the expectation
of the coming of your Son. Accept all we offer you this day, and
sustain us with your promise of eternal life. We ask this in the
name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Eucharistic Prayer # 3, BAS p. 198

Announcements
Dismissal: Deacon Grace
Concluding Hymn “Sleepers, wake! A voice astounds us”
"Sleepers, wake!" A voice astounds us,
the shout of rampart-guards surrounds us:
"Awake, Jerusalem, arise!"
Midnight's peace their cry has broken,
their urgent summons clearly spoken:
"The time has come, O maidens wise!
Rise up, and give us light;
the Bridegroom is in sight.
Alleluia!
Your lamps prepare and hasten there,
that you the wedding feast may share."

The Lord’s Prayer (sung)
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name,
your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial, and deliver us from evil,
For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and
for ever. Amen.
Presider: God of promise, you prepare a banquet for us in your
kingdom.
All: Happy are they who are called to supper of the lamb.
Presider: The gifts of God for the people of God.
All: Thanks be to God.
Doxology (All stand as able)

Zion hears the watchman singing;
her heart with joyful hope is springing,
she wakes and hurries through the night.
Forth he comes, her bridegroom glorious
in strength of grace, in truth victorious:
her star is risen, her light grows bright.
Now come, most worthy Lord,
God's Son, Incarnate Word,
Alleluia!
We follow all and heed your call
to come into the banquet hall.
Lamb of God, the heavens adore you;
let saints and angels sing before you,
as harps and cymbals swell the sound.
LIFE AND MINISTRY OF OUR COMMUNITY

Twelve great pearls, the city's portals:
through them we stream to join the immortals
as we with joy your throne surround.
No eye has known the sight,
no ear heard such delight:
Alleluia!
Therefore we sing to greet our King;
for ever let our praises ring.

Kindle a light to lighten the darkness, Kindle a light for all who despair: God in the poor is coming to judge us, Kindle a light with fasting and prayer. Kindle a light to lighten the darkness, Kindle a light in places of shame, God in the poor is coming to heal us, Kindle a light with hope in its flame. Kindle a light to lighten the darkness, Kindle a light for sorrow to cease: God in the poor is coming to free us, Kindle a light for justice and peace. PRAYER Let us pray. God of justice and peace, from the heavens you rain down mercy and kindness, that all on earth may stand in awe and wonder before your marvelous deeds. Raise our heads in expectation, that we may yearn for the coming day of the Lord and stand without blame before your Son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen. HYMN (please stand) Come, thou almighty King, help us thy name to sing, help us to praise! Father all glorious, o'er all victorious, come and reign over us, Ancient of Days! Come, thou incarnate Word, gird on thy mighty sword, our prayer attend! Come, and thy people bless, and give thy word success, Spirit of holiness, on us descend! Come, holy Comforter, thy sacred witness bear in this glad hour. Thou who almighty art, now rule in every heart, and ne'er from us depart, Spirit of power! To thee, great One in Three, eternal praises be, hence, evermore. Thy sovereign majesty may we in glory see, and to eternity love and adore! (Please be seated for the reading.) FIRST READING: Jeremiah 33: 14-16 (read by Ross Hewitt) The days are surely coming, says the LORD, when I will fulfill the promise I made to the house of Israel and the house of Judah. In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch to spring up for David; and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. And this is the name by which it will be called: "The Lord is our righteousness."
  • 3. The word of the Lord: Thanks be to God. PRAYER Let us pray together. O God of all the prophets, ALL: you herald the coming of the Son of Man by wondrous signs in the heavens and on the earth. Guard our hearts from despair so that we, in the company of the faithful and by the power of your Holy Spirit, may be found ready to raise our heads at the coming near of our redemption, the day of Jesus Christ. Amen. Choir: Adam lay ybounden – Music by Howard Skempton (born 1947); Text: 15thc. Anonymous Adam lay ybounden, Bounden in a bond; Four thousand winter Thought he not too long. And all was for an apple, An apple that he took, As clerkĂ«s finden written In their book. Nor had one apple taken been, The apple taken been, Then had never Our Lady A-been heaven's queen. Blessed be the time That apple taken was. Therefore we may singen Deo gratias! PRAYER God of timeless grace, you fill us with joyful expectation. Make us ready for the message that prepares the way, that with uprightness of heart and holy joy we may eagerly await the kingdom of your Son, Jesus Christ, who reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, now and for ever. Amen. SECOND READING: Baruch 5:1-9 (read by Teresa Johnson) Take off the garment of your sorrow and affliction, O Jerusalem, and put on forever the beauty of the glory from God. Put on the robe of the righteousness that comes from God; put on your head the diadem of the glory of the Everlasting; for God will show your splendor everywhere under heaven. For God will give you evermore the name, "Righteous Peace, Godly Glory." Arise, O Jerusalem, stand upon the height; look toward the east, and see your children gathered from west and east at the word of the Holy One, rejoicing that God has remembered them. For they went out from you on foot, led away by their enemies; but God will bring them back to you, carried in glory, as on a royal throne. For God has ordered that every high mountain and the everlasting hills be made low and the valleys filled up, to make level ground, so that Israel may walk safely in the glory of God. The woods and every fragrant tree have shaded Israel at God's command. For God will lead Israel with joy, in the light of his glory, with the mercy and righteousness that come from him. The word of the Lord: Thanks be to God. HYMN (Please stand) There’s a voice in the wilderness crying, A call from the ways untrod: Prepare in the desert a highway, A highway for our God! The valleys shall be exalted, The lofty hills brought low; Make straight all the crooked places, Where the Lord our God may go! O Zion, that bringest good tidings, Get thee up to the heights and sing! Proclaim to a desolate people The coming of their King.
  • 4. Like the flowers of the field they perish, The works of men decay, The power and pomp of nations Shall pass like a dream away. But the word of our God endureth, The arm of the Lord is strong; He stands in the midst of nations, And He will right the wrong. He shall feed His flock like a shepherd, And fold the lambs to His breast; In pastures of peace He’ll lead them, And give to the weary rest. There’s a voice in the wilderness crying, A call from the ways untrod: Prepare in the desert a highway, A highway for our God! The valleys shall be exalted, The lofty hills brought low; Make straight all the crooked places, Where the Lord our God may go! PRAYER Let us pray together: Out of the embrace of mercy and righteousness, ALL: you have brought forth joy and dignity for your people, O Holy One of Israel. Remember now your ancient promise: make straight the paths that lead to you, and smooth the rough ways, that in our day we might bring forth your compassion for all humanity. Amen. Please be seated. Choir: Lo, how a rose e’er blooming – music by Michael Praetorious (1571-1621) Lo, how a rose e'er blooming, From tender stem hath sprung. Of Jesse's lineage coming, As men of old have sung; It came, a flow'ret bright, Amid the cold of winter, When half spent was the night. Isaiah 'twas foretold it, The Rose I have in mind, With Mary we behold it, The virgin mother kind; To show God's love aright, She bore to men a Savior, When half spent was the night. PRAYER Let us pray. God of hope, you call us home from the exile of selfish oppression to the freedom of justice, the balm of healing, and the joy of sharing. Make us strong to join you in your holy work, as friends of strangers and victims, companions of those whom others shun, and as the happiness of those whose hearts are broken. We make our prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. READING: Zephaniah 3:14-20 (read by Dr. Virginia Wright) Sing aloud, O daughter Zion; shout, O Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, O daughter Jerusalem! The LORD has taken away the judgments against you, he has turned away your enemies. The king of Israel, the LORD, is in your midst; you shall fear disaster no more. On that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: Do not fear, O Zion; do not let your hands grow weak. The LORD, your God, is in your midst, a warrior who gives victory; he will rejoice over you with gladness, he will renew you in his love; he will exult over you with loud singing, as on a day of festival. I will remove disaster from you, so that you will not bear reproach for it. I will deal with all your oppressors at that time. And I will save the lame and gather the outcast, and I will change their shame into praise and renown in all the earth. At that time I will bring you home, at the time when I gather you;
  • 5. for I will make you renowned and praised among all the peoples of the earth, when I restore your fortunes before your eyes, says the Lord. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. Choir: Mary’s Magnificat – Andrew Carter (born 1939) Softly a light is stealing, Sweetly a maiden sings, Ever wakeful, ever wistful. Watching faithfully, thankfully, tenderly Her King of kings. My soul doth magnify the Lord: And my spirit hath rejoiced, rejoiced in God my Saviour. Mary her song to Jesus Softly, serenely sings: ‘I will love you, I will serve you, May my lullaby glorify, magnify My King of kings.’ PRAYER O God of Elizabeth and Mary, you visited your servants with news of the world's redemption in the coming of the Savior. Make our hearts leap with joy, and fill our mouths with songs of praise, that we may announce glad tidings of peace, and welcome the Christ in our midst. Amen. READING: Micah 5:2-5a (read by Rhonda Boyce ) But you, O Bethlehem of Ephrathah, who are one of the little clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to rule in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient days. Therefore he shall give them up until the time when she who is in labor has brought forth; then the rest of his kindred shall return to the people of Israel. And he shall stand and feed his flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God. And they shall live secure, for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth; and he shall be the one of peace. The word of the Lord: Thanks be to God. Choir: Ave Maria – Music by Simon Lindley (born 1948) Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen. PRAYER Shepherd of Israel, ALL: you gently support the one who is with child Stir our hearts to recognize Christ's coming, as Elizabeth recognized his presence in Mary's rejoicing, and open our hearts to receive the one who came to love your flock. • 6. But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. Deacon: The Gospel of Christ. All: Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ. Prayer of Confession Most merciful God we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbours as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, Have mercy on us and forgive us, that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your name. Amen. Absolution The Exchange of the Peace (We greet and exchange the Peace of Christ with our neighbours.) Affirmation of Faith We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and as buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dad, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, with the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. he has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen. OFFERTORY HYMN Sing of Mary, pure and lowly, Virgin mother undefiled, Sing of God's own Son most holy, Who became her little child. Fairest child of fairest mother, God the Lord who came to earth, Word made flesh, our very brother, Takes our nature by his birth. Sing of Jesus, son of Mary, In the home at Nazareth. Toil and labour cannot weary Love enduring unto death. Constant was the love he gave her, Though he went forth from her side, Forth to preach, and heal, and suffer, Till on Calvary he died.
  • 7. Glory be to God the Father; Glory be to God the Son; Glory be to God the Spirit; Glory to the Three in One.
