Advice to Me
5. Advice from Me
Do:
• Find a profession, then a job
• Look up and learn
• Look across and learn
• Look outside the department,
company, business
• Look down and mentor
• Read job descriptions even if
you’re not in the market
Remember:
• A mentor doesn’t have to be a
“mentor”
• It’s okay to be quiet, but don’t be
shy
• The higher the position the fewer
mentors (cast a wider net)
• You don’t know everything!!
• You have my permission to not take
all the advice you get.
