Developing the Video Neighborhood on
NSS-806 @ 47.5ºW
• Following the successful launch of SES-6, NSS-806 was relocated from 40.5ºW to 47.5ºW to start the second
Latin American video neighborhood
• The same hemispheric coverage that made 40.5ºW a success, now with better elevation angle over Mexico
• Excellent opportunity for the 2016 Olympics and other Sports events

• SES Antenna Program to seed
cable head-ends:
• SES is providing antennas and LNBs for cable
head-ends and DTH head-ends in Latin America.
Typical size is 3.7 meter. Program starting in
Mexico, Colombia and Argentina, but available
for all Latin America
• Dual feeder (40.5° W & 47.5° West) is an
alternative for sites with limited space (4.5
meter or 3.7 meter) and could also provide
contingency for SES-6

About SES
1
AMC-4
was relocated to 67ºW to support Andean
Community requirement to bring into use
spectrum by July 2010
AMC-3
was moved in 2012 to further strengthen
67ºW by providing back-up and growth
capacity for Mexico and Central America
Our global fleet allowed SES to relocate satellites to maintain and develop the
Andean Community (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru) rights at 67W. The Andean
Community was able to maintain and develop a path to develop their orbital location
through their partnership with SES. This will provide them with access to capacity to
support their government initiatives
Community gains further benefits by leveraging SES’s expertise in designing and
procuring satellites, while minimizing their upfront investment
SES gained access to a key orbital location with excellent elevation angles for Latin
America, further supporting the growth strategy in the region
