2. Archangel Gabriel (hebr. גַּבְרִיאֵלġabrīēl, grec. Γαβριήλ, arab. جبريلDżibril, Dżabra'il, „ "God is my strength", "man of God" or "warrior of God") - in the tradition of the Christian, Judaic and Islamic, one of the three highest-ranking angels. This is the angel of annunciation, resurrection, mercy, revenge, death and disclosure. Next to Michael and Raphael, is one of three well-known name archangels of the Old Testament. Gabriel holds authority over paradise.In the New Testament, appears twice in the Gospel of Luke: the first time when heralds Zachariah birth of saint John the Baptist (Lk 1.19), and when announced the Blessed Virgin Mary Nativity of Jesus (Luke 1.26). In the Old Testament appeared 2 times: in the book of the prophet Daniel: archangel Gabriel explains to Prophet the meaning of the vision of sheep and goat(Dn 8,13-26), and afterwards explains Daniel prophecy of Jeremiah about 70 weeks - years (9,21-22 Dn; Jr. 25.11 N). In Islam Gabriel was as envoy of God (Allah) and the guide of Prophet Mohammad and also dictated Koranto the Prophet. According to Islamic tradition is imagined as a spirit, protean appearance of a man with four wings, in the Koran quite often called the Holy Spirit. He is the patron philatelists, staff communication, post, radio and television and diplomats.
