This document discusses several unique aquatic animals that hold records, including: 1. The whale shark, the largest fish in the world, which can grow up to 18 meters long and weigh 18 tons, yet is docile with its large mouth and tiny teeth. 2. The basking shark, a huge cartilaginous fish that stays buoyant by having a large liver filled with oil instead of an air bladder like bony fish. 3. A ‘ Whale’ amongst fishes
with its dimensions up to18 meters and 18 tons!
The biggest fish in this ‘ fishy ’world
A slow swimming filter feeding fish –a giant indeed
yet docile , inspite of 5 feet wide gaping mouth
and 350 rows of tiny 3000 teeth
In long distance journeys it has no peer
travelling thousands of kilometers every year
A champion diver, whenever it desires
dives deep up to 6324 feet inside oceans

Basking Shark

We are huge sluggish cartilaginous fishes
We don’t have air bladder like our bony sisters
but are proud possessors of a large liver
occupying quite a bit of space in our interior
keeping it full of oil to the brim is our way
to remain buoyant all the time all the way
it keeps us afloat and swimming merrily
alas ! it also makes us target of men who are greedy.

Lantern fish

We are called lantern fishes
for we are bioluminescent beings studded with photophores
We are ,however, small bony fishes with large eyes
like our sisters with an air bladder inside us
but to keep us afloat and swimming merrily
and help journeying up and down daily.
we have also been provided with waxy esters
and are therefore better off than others.

Strangely I am called a man of war
although I have nothing to do with Man or War
It is said I look like ones ready for war
not exactly ,but I do strike fear in all those near or far
I keep floating on sea surface by my colourful float yar
with long trailing tentacles full of stings by far
I am actually a colony of many individuals integrated as one
hence it is not surprising if I look like one
I use my float for defense as well by deflating it and sink temporarily
to evade predators and escape safely .

Nautilus

I am a mollusk very different from my pears
for I create a beautiful spiral shell without pear
This shell is made of several chambers
which are also used for maintaining buoyancy
by taking in or letting out water
and adjusting the ratio of gas and fluids
propelling at the same time by jet propulsion
more efficiently than others.
Simpler than other sisters
all the same I am a good sailor.
