This presentation serves as an introduction to AI in media production. It aims to assist those working as journalists or in public relations departments by showing how artificial intelligence can make their work more effective and improve quality. I have delivered this presentation to various organizations and enterprises over the past few months. This version is from autumn 2023, which means that some aspects may have changed since then.
I discussed how media enterprises utilize AI and my experiences using it as a freelance journalist. Additionally, I introduced various tools and explained how to use them. I also covered the potential downsides of artificial intelligence.

SharePoint Saturday Helsinki 2019 - Unite your Modern Workplace with Microsof...Thomas Gölles
Your workplace is an important topic. However, it's not a tool or service you buy of the shelf. It is an idea. It's your very own concept of teamwork. Microsoft is investing heavily in this area. For example, think of productivity tools like Teams or SharePoint, and their amount of out of the box features ready to use today. But we believe there is even more. By connecting the modern workplace with Microsoft's artificial intelligence ecosystem, we showcase how your concept of teamwork united with smart services opens the door to new use cases.
This session introduces services of the Microsoft AI stack customers use in their modern workplace. From information stored in your SharePoint lists to exposing your data warehouse KPIs in a dialogue, think of bots as a tool to break up those silos to surface the essential data in your intranet and collaboration spaces. Our demos leverage the platform capabilities of Teams and SharePoint to demonstrate how to unite Office365 with Bots and Cognitive Services and therefore open up your workplace concept to new ideas of combining Office365 and Azure.

Marketing in the Machine Age: The Path to a More (Artificially) Intelligent F...PR 20/20
Presented at Emarsys Evolution, Aug. 3, 2017
Consider how much time your team spends reviewing marketing analytics, generating data-driven insights and recommendations, and devising intelligent strategies. Now imagine if a machine performed the majority of those activities and a marketer's primary role was to enhance rather than create.
Machines are not going to replace marketers in the near term, but artificial intelligence is accelerating us toward a more intelligently automated future. Come explore the present and future potential of artificial intelligence, and discover AI-powered technologies that can drive marketing performance and transform your career.
* Understand what the disruption of other industries can teach us about the inevitable impact artificial intelligence will have on the marketing industry.
* Learn about the marketing technology companies that are leading the way in advanced automation, predictive analytics and machine-generated content.

Suzanne Lagerweij - Influence Without Power - Why Empathy is Your Best Friend...Suzanne Lagerweij
This is a workshop about communication and collaboration. We will experience how we can analyze the reasons for resistance to change (exercise 1) and practice how to improve our conversation style and be more in control and effective in the way we communicate (exercise 2).
This session will use Dave Gray’s Empathy Mapping, Argyris’ Ladder of Inference and The Four Rs from Agile Conversations (Squirrel and Fredrick).
Abstract:
Let’s talk about powerful conversations! We all know how to lead a constructive conversation, right? Then why is it so difficult to have those conversations with people at work, especially those in powerful positions that show resistance to change?
Learning to control and direct conversations takes understanding and practice.
We can combine our innate empathy with our analytical skills to gain a deeper understanding of complex situations at work. Join this session to learn how to prepare for difficult conversations and how to improve our agile conversations in order to be more influential without power. We will use Dave Gray’s Empathy Mapping, Argyris’ Ladder of Inference and The Four Rs from Agile Conversations (Squirrel and Fredrick).
In the session you will experience how preparing and reflecting on your conversation can help you be more influential at work. You will learn how to communicate more effectively with the people needed to achieve positive change. You will leave with a self-revised version of a difficult conversation and a practical model to use when you get back to work.
Come learn more on how to become a real influencer!

6. What is AI?
1 Machine Learning
AI technology that enables
computer systems to identify
patterns and learn from data
with little human
intervention.
2 Natural Language
Processing
Using algorithms to analyze,
understand, and generate
human language.
3 Computer Vision
Enabling machines to interpret visual data from the world, including
images and videos.
8. Advantages of using AI
Cost reduction
AI can help reduce costs by
automating repetitive tasks
and reducing the need for
human intervention.
Efficency
By automating processes, AI
can reduce the time taken to
execute certain tasks, which
can give the organization a
significant competitive
advantage.
Scalability
AI can adapt to the
increasing volume of data,
requests and interactions an
enterprise must deal with as
it expands.

10. KI Applications in the Communication
Department
1 Analytics
AI can quickly process vast amounts of data, providing insights into website traffic, social
media engagements and ad performance.
2 Content Creation
AI tools can assist in the creation of high-quality written and visual content, by proposing
themes and formats or suggesting images and videos.
3 Personalization
Using AI to analyze customer data can help communication departments personalise their
messaging to target customers more effectively.

42. BETTINA BLASS
IMPORTANT TO KNOW
▸ There is not one single right solution; it depends on what you want.
▸ I say: Bard is not as good as ChatGPT yet.
▸ ChatGPT provides different responses depending on the hosting
platforms: On OpenAI, the software is more creative, while in the Bing
Chat, it provides sources and is connected with Dall-E.
▸ Smaller providers often offer more specialized solutions.
▸ Poe is good for getting an overview of various models.
44. BETTINA BLASS
IT’S DIFFICULT
▸ AI is trained with copyright material. However, the result is usually so far from
the source that this is not a problem. But you never know! There is no guarantee.
The question of how the AI was trained on a technical way makes also a
difference. The so called "Scraping" is okay.
▸ There would be a copyright problem while writing a new Harry Potter edition
based on the well-known characters with the help of AI.
▸ Only humans can own copyrights. There is no copyright on AI-generated
content. Question: How much does man change? Important in minimum for
Germans: Authors must submit copyrighted work and are liable for the content.
47. Challenges in introducing AI into the work
environment
Data Privacy
Data privacy regulations, such
as GDPR and CCPA, must be
adhered to, so employees must
be trained and processes
implemented to maintain
compliance.
Cybersecurity
Connectivity to the internet
opens communication
departments to cyber threats.
AI-specific safety protocol must
be put in place to prevent data
breaches.
Job Displacement
As routine tasks become
automated, some employees
may be made redundant,
requiring the enterprise to
implement re-skilling and other
programs to address job
displacement issues.
48. BETTINA BLASS
THE DARK SIDE
▸ Very high energy consumption. "According to these calculations, the Bing AI is by far the biggest
power guzzler with 7,200 MWh. Almost two lignite-
fi
red power plants, like the ones in Neurath in
North Rhine-Westphalia, would be needed to meet this demand for electricity. Depending on the
source, the power plant there emits between 18.67 million and 22.08 million tons of the climate killer
CO2 per year.” (Source: https://www.cio.de/a/amp/microsofts-bing-ki-groesster-stromfresser-
mit-7-200-mwh)
▸ Many users will believe everything they read because they do not (yet) understand the difference to
search enginesUrheberrechtsprobleme und Lizenzierungen
▸ Ethical and moral issues: Clickworkers train ChatGPT for penniesBias-Gefahr durch Programmierende
▸ AI will cost jobs
▸ Fraudsters become very convincing with WormGPT or FraudGPT
49. „The development of artificial intelligence
could be either the worst or the best
thing that has happened to humans.“
Stephen Hawking, astrophysicist, 2017
50. Zusammenfassung und Ausblick

more opportunities for organizations to create
value and achieve goals.
