Naked, Embarrassed and Exposed? Then Put Something On, is based on Shereen’s book of the same name. The lessons encourage us put on the attributes of Jesus so others see God’s glory in us. Based on Colossians 3:12-17.
2. Crowned a Winner
with a Tiara of Love
• “I adorned you with jewelry: I put bracelets on
your arms and a necklace around your neck,
and I put a ring on your nose, earrings on your
ears and a beautiful crown on your head.”
(Ezekiel 16:11-12)
• Love goes perfectly with our outfit and makes
evident our royal lineage.
3. Soak in the Jacuzzi of Love
• “Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the
mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal
life.” (Jude 21)
• And I pray that you, being rooted and established in
love, may have power, together with all the saints, to
grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the
love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses
knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure
of all the fullness of God."
(Ephesians 3:17-19)
4. Soak in the Jacuzzi of Love
• Keeping ourselves in God’s love isn’t a matter
of doing or being something so God will love
us. Rather, it is knowing that he loves us and
abandoning ourselves to the love relationship
that he began.
• Sitting in the presence of God and basking in
his love will bring profits that are eternal.
5. Get Out, Dry Off, and Get Dressed
• “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and
dearly loved, clothe yourselves with
compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness
and patience. Bear with each other and
forgive whatever grievances you may have
against one another. Forgive as the Lord
forgave you. And over all these virtues put on
love, which binds them all together in perfect
unity.” (Colossians 3:12-14)
6. Get Out, Dry Off, and Get Dressed
• Jesus basked in the love of God.
• Peter offered to build shelters so they could
stay up there.
• Jesus brought them off the mountain.
• Listen to the Lord. Go when and where he
sends you. Take the warming glow of his love
with you into the cold world.
7. A Gift from the Heart of God
• “I gave you my solemn oath and entered into
a covenant with you, declares the Sovereign
Lord, and you became mine.” (Ezekiel 16:8)
• "For it is by grace you have been saved,
through faith—and this not from yourselves, it
is the gift of God—"
(Ephesians 2:8)
8. A Gift from the Heart of God
• His love is a gift. It is not earned or deserved.
• You are already beautiful to God. You already have
his favor. He chose you and saved you. He clothed
you in righteousness. He sees us without sin because
Jesus took the sin away. He sees our full beauty that
sin had hidden. He wants us to live this life as sin free
as possible so others will see the beauty that he sees.
• His Word has his plans for a makeover.
