5. How to manage it all
• Social Media Management System (SMMS)
• Most major brands use them to help with the
governance of their content and editorial calendar
• Customize messages for each channel
• Some are cheap, some are expensive
• Can get started for around $10/month per user

• there are a bunch of these...

6. • It’s like the iPod. It wasn’t the first, it’s just the biggest.
• 900 million users and growing
• Started by Mark Zuckerberg at Harvard (documented
in the award-winning movie)
• Still one of the more personal areas of the social web,
but that’s changing
• Most popular photo-sharing site on the web
•250 million photos uploaded daily

7. Why is important
• It’s Facebook.
• 9% of all visits online belong to Facebook.
• 20% of all pageviews on the web belongs to Facebook.
• Average visit is 20 minutes.
• 845 million monthly active users
• If you want to take the message to the people, you have
to go where the people are. They are on Facebook.

• Almost 6,000 Likes
• What do you want people to do with your posts?
•Like, Share, Comment or just see them?
• Very low engagement on posts
• Sometimes it is as simple as telling your followers
what you want them to do.
• “Like this post if you’re going to a camp or reunion
this summer!”
• Photos have by far the highest engagement rates

• In 2009, 147 million U.S. users watched 101 videos each
• In 2011, YouTube had over 1 trillion views, 140 for every
person on the planet
• 4 billion videos watched every day
• Every minute, 3 days worth of video is uploaded to
YouTube

10. Why Twitter is important
• 2nd biggest search engine in the world
• There is tons of Christ-based content
• YouTube videos are easily shareable and mobile
• Portability exposes more to the mission
• Building a subscriber base allows more people to be
immediately notified of new content

• Huge opportunity to share video content
• Every video that is on the website should be uploaded
to YouTube if possible
• YouTube videos can be embedded on Facebook and
Twitter as well
• Videos do not have to be overproduced
• Quick field videos with a FlipCam or iPhone
• Weekly address

• Follow your interests. Discover your world.

• 175 million tweets per day
• 40% of users do not tweet, but that doesn’t mean they
aren’t there.
